So what place is your team in and how many losses do they have? And if that team is in the SEC how many times did they get beat by an unranked team? :jestera:

What top 10 team did WV beat? Missouri (besides a Kansas team who didn't play ANYBODY)? How about Georgia? Kansas? Va Tech?

I believe # 7 LSU is the highest ranked team in the BCS standings to beat a top 10 team.

I honestly don't know who the top 2 teams in the country are, but if you are going to pick on Ohio State's schedule, you have to look at the other schedules of the top ranked teams. Before Illinois, Ohio State looked as good or better than any team in the country. They didn't overly impress anyone the last two weeks, however. I would never have picked WV to be in the title game, but they seem to be on a roll lately.

hartville tiger... so bitter.

your team still lost to a 1AA team, among others, as well as got their as# kicked at home to our buckeyes. all this AFTER the seniors came back for 2 reasons: 1. beat OSU. 2. National Title. i would say they went 0 for 2.

sucks to be a UM fan.

exactly. missouri has not beaten ANYONE who is currently ranked, except for an overrated kansas squad (and look at kansas' schedule.....VERY weak).

wvu has beaten NO top ten teams. the highest ranked team they've beaten is cincy at 20.

georgia? no

virginia tech? no.

usc? no.

but i guess we should put a two loss lsu team, who's struggled more than they should have, in the championship.

you'll have to excuse hartville tiger. he really doesn't have a clue.

Some thoughts:

1) I really feel that Mizzou will lose to Oklahoma (thus OSU should be playing for National Title).

2) Georgia will make a BCS Game because not being in the SEC title game means they have secured only 2 losses on the season so they will get in as the 2nd SEC school.

3) Huge win for Hawaii over Boise St. moving the only undefeated team in college football from #15 to #12 in the BCS standings. A win over University of Washington next week should keep the Warriors at #12 or higher. What does that mean? If Hawaii is #12 or higher they are assured a BCS Bowl Game. I really feel they will cause match-up problems and put up at least 40 on anyone. I would assume they would go to the Fiesta Bowl (less travel involved unless OSU gets into title game which you could then have USC versus Hawaii in the Rose)

4) I have a problem with Kansas staying so high at #5 in the BCS and coaches polls. I feel that they deserved what they had until they lost. Anyone who watched that game versus Missouri saw that the score was not indicative of the game and they are very poor on defense. On defense, they are very slow, their defenders stop their feet at all times (ultimate no-no on defense) and they might of been the worst tackling team I have seen in the past 10 years in college football (they had Missouri at least 4 times stopped for at least a 7 yard loss that ended up being at least a 3 yard gain).

5) My Bowl Game predictions based off of Va Tech, Okla, USC (has to beat UCLA) and LSU winning their conference titles:

Rose: USC Vs. Hawaii
Fiesta: Oklahoma VS. Georgia
Orange: Va Tech VS LSU
Sugar: WVU VS OSU

One note, i do not know which Bowls have 1st choice after the Sugar. If it is the Rose, I would think they would want a USC-LSU matchup, which would probably send Hawaii like Boise last year to the Fiesta to face the Big-12 Champ.

If Missouri loses to Oklahoma the BCS Bowls will have an interesting choice. DO they take a Missouri Team who finishes with 2 losses and beat Kansas...or do they take Kansas who only has one loss but lost to Missouri...or a red hot Georgia?

6) This will be the best non-BCS bowl series in a long time. Many of the usual powers and several current powers will be playing in non BCS bowl games including: (Based off of my predictions)

Florida
Michigan
Boston College
Arizona St
Tennesee
Illinois
Clemson
Wisconsin
Texas
Auburn
Boise St.
Missouri
Kansas

7) Worst part of the BCS? UCLA could make it into a BCS Bowl game at 7-5. Yes thats true. If UCLA beats USC and Arizona beats Arizona St. then there would be a 3-way tie for 1st in the Pac-10 and UCLA would win the tie-breaker. This is awful. 2 things could happen for UCLA this weekend, they could end up 7-5 and make the freaking Rose Bowl or they could lose and end up 6-6 and not make a bowl game at all. That is awful. I hope they win and Arizona St losses so it shows what a crock the BCS is.

8) Wosrt part #2: If Hawaii losses to Washington, look out. There would be an extra spot to fill which would probably include either Arizona St, Illinois or Clemson. If that happens I assume Arizona St. VS Oklahoma in the Fiesta

A playoff series with the top 8 teams has been overdue fo long time! Georgia is probably the scariest team in the nation right now but WVU is the hottest!!

Great match-ups this year as well as years to come! With only 15-25 schollies a year parity will become more evident. Great players are playing in more non top 20 teams whichs makes them better each year. Who would think that Mizzu would have more talent than Tennesse, UM, Nebraska, PSU, texas, etc,... its the recruiting is getting hectic and harder to land the best players

They will if they get to play WVU for it, my friend. And I guess that is my point. I think there are four or five teams below the top four better than the top four that won't get an opportunity to play. That's why I'm for a play-off.

When you look at the numbers Georgia really doesnt have an argument:

LSU Beat 6 ranked opponents:

Va Tech by 41
South Carolina by 12
Florida by 4
Auburn by 6
Alabama by 7
Tennessee by 7

Georgia Beat 4 Ranked opponents:

Alabama by 3
Florida by 12
Auburn by 25
Kentucky by 11

LSU Beat both teams that beat Georgia (Tennessee beat UGA by 21). Georgia only beat one team that beat LSU.

LSU was SEC Champs. They also did it with 4 starters out with injuries in that game including the nations best defensive lineman.

LSU beat the Number 3 Ranked Team (VA Tech) by 41 points.

UGA I am sure was haunted in voting all year after Mark Reicht Sent his entire team onto the field to get a 15 yard penalty versus Florida after their first score. Its one thing to try to moitvate your team but I GUARANTEE that coaches viewed that as him showing up the other team and thus cost him votes.

UGA's 2 losses came to teams unranked at the time they played. LSU had a loss to a team ranked #17 at the time.

austinsm11
12-04-2007, 06:37 AM
Crackerman, I don't really have an issue with Georgia not making it. They didn't win their conference and it seems LSU has bigger wins.

What I just don't get is why in the heck Georgia got more votes the week before when everyone knew they wouldn't be in the conference championship game. Same thing with Va Tech. They get drilled by LSU and are ranked ahead of LSU. They then defeat a higher ranked opp. than LSU and drop behind them. Why wasn't Va Tech ranked behind LSU to start?

I think if voters did the job they should have last week, there would be less complaints about LSU jumping teams and things don't look "as bad" for the BCS.

Good point about the Georgia/Florida game. I hadn't thought of that.

This is a site with a peaceful, intuitive, tremendous, terrific, sweet, bright, united, royal, gracious, humane mentality.
