What we need to do is focus on getting comsumption down, our domestic production up, to the point where we can self sustain. Then we can tell the "oil terrorists" to piss off.

Now, this won't happen. It involves the more liberal folk to work with the more conservative folk and vice versa. We need to work on alternative fuels and oil saving technologies. We also need to drill in new areas of the country and increase domestic production. Unfortunately some people won't give up their pettiness for the good of the country.
