With Hart not playing and Henne playing just a bit, I really think they decided to rest those two for Ohio State. They had nothing to lose or gain by losing that game.
I really hope that Ohio State will wake up. I can't believe they didn't review the fumble on the long Illinois run on their first possession. That would have really changed momentum. There was almost a minute between that play and when the ball was snapped on the next play. I can't believe that they wouldn't have had time to look at the fumble quickly and stop the next play to review the fumble.

We'll Ohio State looks absolutely horrible. Outplayed on offense and defense, and outcoached.
I'm also wondering about our punt and kick returns. It seems like we can't break anything for big yardage, but maybe I'm forgetting other games because I'm not in a good mood right now.
Congrats to BG and Illinois.

ohio state did get hosed on that fumble...the ruling would have gotten overturned if tressel had jump on it and challegenged the ruling...and that would have been one td they wouldn't have scored

W1: Looks like things are lining up fer a good one up there in that northern state. Since the Bucks dropped the ball today, emotions are high; especially with Tressel; Because of that; I Got a feeling that OSU is gonna take Blue to the wood shed in this one, After that; WHO knows what will happen. I guess with all of the one loss teams out there; maybe some year the BCS will launch a play off system.

Frankly, I think it points out how weak the B10 really is.
This is a HUGE game for both teams. I don't see either taking the other to the wood shed. Remember, Henne and Hart didn't play and Mallet played like a typical freshman other than Leach, Grbac and Henne himself!

With Blue's core players returning; perhaps you're right, maybe not the wood shed; But my bet is still with USU because of what happened today.
Good luck to both teams;
By the way: How bout that Brian Gamble kid from Massillon huh:smile:

C'mon, shortbev, there was 59 minutes left to play in the game. It wasn't really a defining moment in the game.

That could have been huge. After going up 7 - 0 and giving up such a big play, the bucks get the ball back and probably alot of momentum.
Actually, after OSU scored so quickly I thought to myself that I hope it doesn't end up like the national championship game.
I do give credit to Illinois, however. The made the OSU defense look silly. I believe they had only 1 penalty and no turnovers.
I also think that it makes the Big 10 look stronger and more balanced. It is hard to say that for sure though until Bowl Season.

Don't know how anyone could say 7 points wouldn't be big in this one, the fumble would have changed things quite a bit I think.
Anyone else see Mario acting like a little kid the whole game when he left the field?
Have to say OSU was just plain out played and so was Michigan.

I compare the Big 10 these days to the Federal League. Remember, balanced and competitive does NOT = tough. The SEC is by far the toughest conference in the country!

Where did anyone say OSU played a tougher schedule?
The Voice

It is because of that reason (the schedule) as far as teams with one loss; that OSU; doesn't stand a chance at the big bowl.

The Big 12 is not looking too bad this year as well. Oklahoma, Missiouri, Kansas, Oklahoma State is no slouch, Texas just to name a few.

Henne is way overrated IMO. The only reason why he has those records at Michigan is because he has started all 4 years there, he also chokes in big games. Mallet looked pretty good considering the circumstances ( him being a freshmen and having to come from behind, Carr's decision to go for it on 4th down, manningham in his ear the whole game). If I was a Michigan fan I would hope that Henne keeps that headset on and stays on the sideline next week. I don't understand why Carr went for it on 4th and 20 from his own 2 yard line but then later he had 4th and 10 from his own 20 and elected to punt.

Lol!! While I am no longer a Carr supporter, I'm certainly glad you're not coaching UM next week!!

Nowhere. I never said that anyone did. I was just comparing schedules, and trying to show why I feel the SEC is the best conference this year and why the Big 10 is average at best.

There was still 3 minutes left in thee game, but I don't remeber how many timeouts michigan had left, I thought they had some. Go for it on your own 2 and you don't get it the game is for sure over. You punt it there, then get a 3 and out you still have a chance to at least score then go for an onside kick. They were only down by 9 at that point in the game.

You have a good point on going for it but to want Henne on the bench just doesn't make sense to me. UM must play a heck of a game to win with the old-fashioned Carr-concepts and Henne gives us much more of that chance. With Ryan Mallett, we have 0 chance to win.

I think if you give Mallett some more experience and some confidence, and people will be saying Chad Henne who. I just don't think Henne is that good but thats just my opinion. Like I said, he chokes in big games and has been starting by default basically because there has been no one there behind him.

Although not for the National Championship, the game next week has some old-time flavor to it. The winner goes to the Rose Bowl. Kind of cool since the national title hunt is gone. Warren1st and I get reminisce about some of the old-time, Bo and Woody classics this week.

Why didn't Tressel throw the red flag when Illinois fumbles the ball into the endzone and OSU recovered it; which could have totally changed the complextion of the game and perhaps the ending? :Oo:
Just wondering
