If you dont have Digital basic service with Massillon Cable but you do have a box you can call and add over 40 channels to your lineup for only 5.00 a month. This can be added instantly.

THE MOST FAMOUS RIVALRY IN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
MASSILLON TIGERS vs. CANTON McKINLEY BULLDOGS
CANTON, OH
Already the subject of two films, most recently 1999’s Go Tigers, the Massillon/ McKinley rivalry is by far the most famous high school football rivalry. The intensity of this rivalry is built all season, making for a great game and a great atmosphere when the teams meet in the final game of this year’s regular season. Although the rivalry is very intense, the teams get along, last year meeting at Massillon’s 50-yard line and reciting the Lord’s Prayer together. McKinley beat Massillon in a 38-8 blowout in the ’05 regular season, but lost to them in the playoffs. Massillon won the rivalry game last year 10-7. This year’s game will be played at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in front of more than 20,000 fans. Massillon has won 23 state championships, 9 national championships, and Massillon leads the overall series 60-49. The two teams are considered two of the top 20 in state by Maxpreps.

Time Warner - Channel 66

I don't know if it has already been mentioned, but there is a piece on the Mass/Mck game in this month's Sports Illustrated under the High School heading. This issue has the Red Sox on the cover.

Just watched the show - WOW! These folks know how to tell a story and their video editing is remarkable. I really feel like they captured much of the essence of this rivaly. Kudos to NFL Films on a job well done. I have it on Tivo and will be sure to watch agin - I only wish I had a DVD recorder to burn it - may have to go make the purchase - unless of course on of you can hook me up!

An interesting side note - of course they told of the tradition in Massillon that each newborn boy receives a football - funny thing was, in that piece, they showed a sign at Autman hospital. I'm not sure if the footage inside the hospital was Aultman or Massillon, but it was kinda funny.

Anyow - this film is a keeper. Every bit as exciting as one of their NFL productions...

Worse come to worse, someone could make a copy on vhs from their dvr.

I ordered the package to get Versus and it was only $5/month. Maybe I'll just cancel it now. haha.

Great show, well done, other than the commercials.

If anyone knows how to take it off my dvr, I'd be willing to make vhs copies.

Agreed with those above in saying it was a very well-done production about the rivalry. I noticed (and pondered) over the Aultman thing as well... especially when they then talked about the Massillon Hospital the rest of the time : ... at any rate, I loved that the show was a positive look at both sides part in the rivalry. No controversy, just pure McK-Mass legend and tradition. Two thumbs up

If anyone wants a copy of the Massillon, Mckinley show that was on Versus, Just IM me. I have it on VHS and will be putting it on DVD this weekend. Because of copyright laws I will not be charging for these copies and you have to provide me with a blank DVD-R for me to copy it.

I agree it was very well put together. I think its the best one i've seen so far on Massillon. But winning in the end made it 10x better:devil:

The way I heard it was that Massillon Hospital doesn't have a maternity ward anymore (this is a second hand rumor don't know if it is true) so any baby born at aultman from Massillon gets the little footballs.

I figured it had to be something like that but then they showed the booster president saying he'd drive a lot of miles to make sure his kid is born at the massillon hospital so I was confused.

My boy got his football when he was born this August. Funny thing is my sister-in-law is from Canton, and she asked if they gave out McK footballs and they said "No, only Massillon does this." Makes you laugh sometimes.

This show was absolutely awesome and a must see for any Massillon or Mck fan and any football fan as well. They put a mic on each coach during the game so you can get a feel for what the coaches were thinking and the pressure they must feel. Treat yourself to a wonderful time and watch this uplifting program. Slider, out!!!

Dave Sheetz mentioned on WHBC this morning that they are trying to get permission to air the show on the WHS_TV on the Massillon Cable. I hope they can do it so we can all see it.
