...I'm calling it right now.

This ain't your same old Brownies. We've finally gotten rid of the garbage that was on the team for almost a decade and we've got guys who can get it done. If I am wrong, you all have my permission to rip me.... but if you look at the rest of our schedule, it is possible.

And next Sunday, "The Puke" is going down!

let's slow down. i'm as thrilled as the next browns fan, but there is a ton of work to be done. next week will be a great measuring stick. however, you make a good point that given the remainder of the schedule, it does seem possible. if they could win next week (BIG if) they will be in control of their destiny this season. they certainly owe the steelers one.

GO BROWNS!

I'm assuming you mean this week's Northwest-Dover game at PBTS. Will they be attending as a team? What section will they sit in?

Unless there is a complete collapse the Browns will win 11 games this year and make the playoffs, the schedule is easy the last 8 games.

A good thing- after the brutal stretch they've been through lately.

As a Cleveland fan, I'm simply not ready to make that leap of faith yet. There's a lot of football left. If they would beat the Steelers, it would definitely legitimize those claims.

My expectation for the Browns this season was to improve and play competitive football. They've done that, so I have few complaints (other than blowing the Raiders game) so far.

Even if they lose the next two games on the road against The Puke and Baltimore, they will still make the playoffs. The rest of the schedule is winnable.

Make the leap. It's gonna happen.

I remember a few months ago I perdicted the Browns would finish at least 10-6 and make the playoffs. Alot of posters said I was nuts and perdicted from 6-10 to 8-8 if my memory is correct.

Anderson is playing so well that they possibly could trade Quinn next year IMO! All the Browns need is a couble more defensive players and a solid RB and they are set. Lewis is good for maybe 1/2 more years.

Mtown---the Ravens and Steelers play tonight so next week the Steelers could be banged up. Traditionally teams that play the Ravens lose the folowing week! I think the Browns can get a least a split in the 2 games.

If the Ravens can find a way to win tonight, the Browns will move into a tie for....

I can't even say it!

MTown,

This is what it is all about......the Steelers and Browns...playing for first place in the AFC North...the two best.

I'll start thinking about this game after the Ravens game...I'm a little (brace yourself) scared but excited...the Browns are playing their best football and I can't overlook that.

I never thought the Browns would be in the position they are. This is a game the Steelers could easily lose if they overlook the Browns. And since I've been a MassillonProud.com poster, Pittsburgh has not lost to Cleveland!

Not gonna happen. The Ravens stink! But of course they'll play near-perfect football against the Browns.

i think they will make the playoffs with 10 wins. the offense is great but the defense needs a pass rush and they need to run more blitzing schemes.

see i don`t hammer cleveland all the time.

I'd like to personally thank the Ravens offense for being attrocious. Wow, they suck!

And so do the Browns!
Pittsburgh is going to give Cleveland one of the worst beatings since week 1.

Pittsburgh-44
Cleveland-10

Cleveland will make the playoffs, but only to lose to the Steelers.

MTown
11-06-2007, 12:08 PM
Didn't know an offense averaging 30 points a game could be attrocious?

BTW...really enjoyed the Steelers 75th anniversary last night. Kinda funny how there was no mention of anything from the first 40 years of the franchise....when they were the dregs of the NFL. But all these Ohio people who have never seen a Steeler game live or even been to Pittsburgh, who are front-running, bandwagon fans would never know anything about that.

MTown,

I'll be looking forward to a dogfight. The Browns are playing like bulldogs running a bulldozer right now (a compliment to them). I think Tyrone Partridge (j/k...my def. genius mentality) was on the field leading the Steelers defense in reference to them scoring 35 points, 28 off Baltimore turnovers in racking up a 35-7 halftime lead on their way to a 38-7 win. If not for the turnovers, the Steelers win 10-7 but the BLOWOUT was awesome!
That's what I call "Bringing The Pain"!

Baltimore was intimidated and I saw the fear in their eyes when they got down 14-0. They weren't the same team that defeated the Steelers 27-0 and 31-7 last year.

Pittsburgh will have to be at their mighty, awesome, super, sensational, intelligent, locked, loaded, overpowering, near best to defeat the Browns as they are not the team that was poisoned in a 34-7 week 1 loss.

This is what it is all about...the Steelers and the Browns...playing for first place.

GO STEELERS!

obie0130
11-06-2007, 06:12 PM
their first 40 seasons they were only a football team in the literal sense of the term. no one worried about them, they were never a contender and they themselves don't even recognize those years.

and, for all you front-running, ohio-born, "i've-liked-them-since-the-70's" steeler fans, quit referring to them as "we'' and/or "us". you are not from PA. once you move there, you can do that.

GO BROWNS

obie0130,

You have no right to tell that to anyone who is a Steelers fan! They don't go around telling you quit referring to the Browns as "we" or "us."

obie0130
11-06-2007, 07:34 PM
first of all, i did not tell anyone that they weren't a steelers fan. (try and read before you write.) second, if i wanted to refer to the browns as "we" i can do that seeing as i am from this area, have a family here, pay state taxes in OH, etc., i can do that.
if you love pitt so much, why are you here?

Put up or shut up! The Browns are going to the playoffs and I perdicted it back in the off season after the draft.

I am not a avid Browns fans but can judge talent alittle bit!LOL Trade Quinn in the off season, get a few free agent defensive players and Rb for the future and Super Bowl by 2010!

Illogical thinking. Sorry Monte I usually like your post but not this one. What in the history of the Cleveland Browns makes anybody think that they could make it to the Super Bowl bu 2010?

MTown
11-07-2007, 09:11 AM
No one is talking Super Bowl by 2010.....We are talking playoffs by 2007.

Look at the schedule.....and tell me why the Browns WON'T win 5 of the next 8. 10-6 gets us in.

Here's how I see it...

@ Pittsburgh L
@ Baltimore W
Houston W
@ Arizona L
@ NY Jets W
Buffalo W
@ Cincinnati L
San Francisco W

Count it up....5 wins 3 losses and IMO that might be conservative, as Cincy might be in full meltdown by then.

That's 10 wins and a playoff spot. Book it.

Actually somebody did say Super Bowl by 2010. But now that I look at the schedule I guess it is possible they get to the playoffs this year.

The way I had it playing out the Browns go 6-2 during this stretch and 4-4 through the 1st 8 but we got 5 so I can arguably say the Browns can go 11-5 or 12-4. Cleveland could also possibly win out including the Steelers---remember I said teams dont fair well after playing the Ravens the week prior. I know, I know it was a blowout Monday night but the Browns still have a chance!

BTW---- I did say Super Bowl by 2010 if Cleveland can stay healthy and gain a few more defensive players by free agency or draft! The also need a franchise RB real soon.

MTown
11-07-2007, 02:22 PM
We need to add a D-Lineman during free agency and get someone in the draft. Sean Smith is playing out of position now but looks to be a solid player. A good D-line will allow our linebackers to make plays...and we have big time speed at that position.

But that's next year.......we got work to do this year!

Well like i have said MANY of times on this site, My Dad was born and raised in Altoona, Pa. My grandpa moved the family to Ohio when my dad was still in High school. After high school, my dad met my mom and started a family.
My dad did what was best for us as kids growing up. He even raised us as Steelers fans. I AM NOT A FRONT-RUNNING BANDWAGON FAN!!!!!! I have been a Steeler fan my whole life and i have tons and tons of pics to prove it.
I was a Steeler fan since 1977 (when i was born) and i will be one till i'm dead! So go ahead and hate me for living in Ohio and being a Steelers fan. I am only rooting fot the team that was ingraved in to me since birth!

I was rooting for the Steelers all through the 80's when they had loosing records, and the Browns were in the playoffs behind Bernie Kosar. And I was rooting for them when they won the Super Bowl. I am a true die hard Steeler fan. I am not one of those who decided to root for them just because they are one of the best teams, and because they have the hottest female fan base.
Please dont come on here and judge someone just becase your team hasnt had as much success.

obie0130,

You never fail to make me smile. Pittsburgh has the glamorous jewelry in the form of five Super Bowl titles!

The majority of my blood is entrenched in Pittsburgh. The Steelers...I follow them with a devotion that's second to none!
