Interesting and sad story about Jeremy: I read this on a website that I cant remember off hand that he met the girl of his dreams and they got married and only after being married for 6months she died. I believe she was killed in a car accident. How could life be so cruel? Anyways he said that is how he found Christ and got his start. If anyone can clear this up or confirm it please do so.
Being an old guy, I would suggest you give a listen to Phil Keaggy. He was once in a band called Glass Harp and then left it to play christian music. He is probably one of the greatest guitar players around.

Steven Curtis Chapman is a pioneer in the Christian Rock category. I've seen him play 5-6 times, most recently last month in Akron. He was also very instrumental in our decision to adopt children, twice. He was probably the biggest artist to really bring Christian Rock mainstream in the past 15 years. I also love Third Day, and Nicole C. Mulllins (from Cincy) is a great female voice in the category.

Theres an 80's metal christian band called STRYPER. The one time I saw them in concert they were throwing bibles out to the crowd. They were a great band.

I could tell you a funny story about seeing Phil Keaggy at High Mill about 25 years ago...
You really should check him out - and Glass Harp as well. Great stuff.

I saw them for the first time at the American Legion in Massillon in, I think, 1971; 36 years ago,
I bet Kamd50 was there that night, or I saw her at Red Barn after the show.
All in all, I saw Glass Harp 17 times.
I still have all three of their albums.
Their albums were over-orchestrated, and never did them justice.
Got a line on any bootlegs?

The first time I saw Glass Harp was at Chippewa Lake at WHLO Appreciation Day. I have seen Phil Keaggy numerous times since and the Glass Harp Reunion at Akron Civic Theather.

Stryper was a great "hair band", there are also some great "old school" metal Christian bands that I used to see a lot. My favorite was REZ Band, (short for the resurrection band), and also a band from Sweden called Jerusalem. The biggest Christian rock band back in the day though was a band called Petra. You can still get their music at Berean in Canton.
I also agree, Phil Keaggy was an amazing guitar player. Not bad for a guy missing most of one of his fingers.

Not exactly Rock - more like Hip Hop Rock (even a little bit raggae in his latest album) but Tobymac has some fantastic Christain music!

Also, checkout Kutless, Switchfoot, and DC Talk. You might also really like P.O.D. who's got a much harder more metal sound.
Some folks I know are HUGE fans of David Crowder as well, but I haven't heard much of his.

To tell you the truth I never thought P.O.D. was a christian rock band. I guess I was mistaken. I always thought they was kind of the opposite. My mistake.
Thanks guys.

Petra had some good stuff. John Schlitt (singer) used to be in Head East way back when - he sang "Never Been Any Reason".

You guys are bringing back some good memories. I first saw Phil Keaggy when he play a solo acoustic set at Stadium Park in Massillon. I have see Phil Keaggy a few times over the years. Also, Chippewa Appreciation Day MAN that was some good times. I found a poster recently to a concert I went to and the Ticket price $6.00. AH, the Good Old Days.

A really good christian group to listen to is Lifehouse. Some of their songs are faster but some are slower and mellow. Also, their songs have a lot of meaning in them if you just listen to the words.
