I think many people have been expecting one of the facilities to close after the recent consolidation of services. And IF one is closed, these recent comments in the Inde would fit that theory.

“The goal of bringing these two facilities together as one has been to create a stronger health care provider in our local community,” said Ray Martinez, chairman of Affinity Medical Center’s Board of Trustees. “Our Board of Trustees has been working closely with hospital administration and supports the strategic planning process and the decisions that have been made. The administration at Affinity Medical Center has the overall healthy of our community at heart, and we trust their leadership and direction.”

...

"(Affinity spokesperson Susan) Koosh said she is 'not aware of' any further staff cuts. She squashed rumors that the Massillon campus planned to close. Affinity plans to abide by the agreement established with the city to offer inpatient and/or outpatient services for at least five years."

I know MCH isn't going to close anytime soon. I can not give my reasons why I know, just that I know.

Ok, well talked to someone here at work and she had heard the same things from someone that works at Doctors. It seems like it stems from the land agreement with the city and that Doctors is out of room, and MCH has more land around it to expand.

It would explain why almost all the services have moved to the Doctor's Campus. Allowing expansion and remodeling of the Massillon facility before bringing everything back home.

The tradition of baby boys getting footballs in Massillon may soon
return!

I had heard that there long term plan is to close both and build a new facility on the west side of Massillon.
Having been a patient at Massillon just 2 weeks ago, I can tell you that my care was terrible. But that being said, I hear horror stories about patient care at every hospital in Stark county.

I believe that you sub-par care is a result of the insurance industry. Which, unfortunely, they dictate your care.

Or the fact that more and more people find them selves completely unable to perform their jobs or work with people.
