No surprise that you'd be on here talking Stuff today!!! I was at the game and I got news for you pal....... the Cavs SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT, they will get it together, and finish strong. I still believe they are good enough to contend in the East. Don't forget, they went 4 and out against the West in the Finals last year. I never said they would win it all, just finish above .500. It's no surprise to me that they got punked by Dallas....

proud, granted a loss to dallas was a given but just watching it overall it was horrible. you were there as well. i can`t blame ferry for not paying andy , he is out of his gourd demanding that type of coin. the real culprit here is ferry but not this year or last. signing larry hughes and damon jones was nuts. hughes was the #3 guy behing allen and redd who wanted no part of cleveland. instead of giving hughes (who`s a walking injury waiting to happen) he should`ve just hung on a few years and they would have plenty of cap room. as of now they`re hamstrung with contracts no team will take on.

Charles Barkley also said Detroit would SWEEP the Cavs last year, and that Cleveland would NEVER make the finals. The East is WEAK guys. I watched Detroit and Miami last night........UGLY game!!!! Almost unwatchable!!!! The only thing that scares me is this 6 game West coast swing starting Sunday. We could be WAY behind the 8 ball by this time next week!!!

Cavs beat Knicks

“...Take nothing away from 23, because he was as good as that other 23 I played against,” Coach Isiah Thomas said, referring to James and Michael Jordan by their uniform numbers. “He was exceptional, and he wasn’t going to let his team lose....”

3-3 in the midst of a tough West Coast swing!!! Could easily be 4-2 after a tough loss in Utah, after being down 9 in the 4th. Lebron is playing great, (Line against Utah..... 32 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists!!) and some of the new guys are stepping up. If Anderson Varejao comes back........... he's gonna have to fight for PT!!!

Wait till we actually get to play against the EAST!!!

could easily be 0-6 as well. barely beat a weak kings team with no bibby or artest, squeaked by golden.st and the knicks gave away the home game. at 3-3 i like my chances. they haven`t sounded beat anyone yet. lebron can`t carry this team 82 games and larry hughes is the biggest free agent flop in the history of the n.b.a. it must make you sick that this goof makes 5 million more than lebron.

ps. by the way, the east is much improved and miami will get wade back soon and the bulls will pull it together , maybe with kobe ,maybe not. look forward to a .500 season as i predicted.

Cavaliers Climb Back to Over .500 With Win Over Raptors

http://www.clevelandleader.com/node/3801

...Guess who had another triple double in today's Cleveland Cavaliers 111-108 victory over the Toronto Raptors today. If you guessed Lebron James you have the correct answer. Lebron James, who has been filling up the stat sheets like holiday shoppers filled up their shopping carts yesterday, netted 36 points with 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Zydrunas Ilgauskas provided the Cavs a formidable inside presence with 16 points and 15 rebounds in the victory....

8-6 is no big deal right now! No doubt that Hughes and others need to step up!

It was reported last night on ESPN that AZ is demanding a trade if Cleveland doesn't sign him soon! However, I think they are better than a .500 team this year for sure! Anyway, why did Cleveland not get rid of some of those sorry benchwarmers? All the average teams are trying to get better with free agency and Cleveland is doing it wit youth! I hope they know what they are doing but Marshall and a few others should have been gone by now!

Varejao loses holdout feud

http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=314449

...Word out of Charlotte Tuesday is that Varejao has agreed to an offer sheet from the Bobcats for three years at just more than $17 million -- or a bit more than half the money the Cavaliers have been offering for weeks.

Because Varejao is a restricted free agent, the Cavaliers have a week to match the Bobcats' offer.

I figure the Cavs will take about 30 seconds to decide, sure, we'll hang onto our 6-10 backup center at far less than what we originally were offering. Varejao told ESPN last week that he hoped the Cavs would sign and trade him, but that can't happen now, according to rules under the collective bargaining agreement. If the Cavs match, Varejao's a Cav....

Looks like the Cavs matched the offer. Seems like he would have been better off to sign the offer for about 1 million a year and then been an unrestricted free agent next year and could have signed for the 8-10 million he wants. I'm sure many teams would be after a backup player who scores 6 points a game, 8-10 reb. and flops all over the place for that kind of money.

not really, if you remember when jordan was a 1 man show he couldn`t win anything till pippen and company arrived. lebron is a great player ,i take nothing away from him but let`s be realistic here. last year cleveland over-achieved bigtime. let`s look at the facts

1. if the wizards had arenas and butler they were out in 1st round.
2. they had the softest road to the finals in years for a team.
3. if not for a super-human performance by lebron in detroit they were out then.
4. if you honestly believe that cleveland was the best all-around team in the east last year you need a headshrinker.

summary , cleveland will win when they unload all this garbage ferry signed to contacts no team would take on. hughes, marshall and damon jones is close flirting with the stiffs diop, dwaun wagner and luke jackson that paxson drafted.

This is what you said before:
like i said before, any takers on that bet? cavs go .500 or worse and wont sniff the playoffs.

The Cavs have been above .500 since 2004-2005. You really think they will be worse than .500 after 3 seasons above .500? I believe last year they came in 2nd in the East. And now they won't even make the playoffs?

The only way they are under .500 is if Lebron continues to miss games.

1. The same Wizards team that they won the series over during the reg. season? The same Wizards team they beat in the playoffs the year before? Come on..the series would have been closer but the Cavs would not have lost to Washington last year.

2. Softest road team to get to the finals? Did you read what you wrote? They got to the finals. And you think they won't even make the playoffs this year?

3. What does this have to do with them being below .500 and not making the playoffs this year?

4. I don't think anyone would disagree with you, but you are hiding from the fact that you said this team isn't a .500 team and won't make the playoffs. Nobody said they were the best team in the East. The best team doesn't always make it to the finals, sometimes it is the hottest.

Even with the current losing streak the Cavs are around 8th in the East.

What a crock Monte!!!! I know you like Kobe , but come on man!!!

Kobe hasn't done anything since Shaq left, (or should I say since Shaq was run out of town by Kobe so HE could be the star in LA?)

Kobe is the ULTIMATE Team KILLER, and cares more about HIS numbers than the teams. He MAY be able to beat Lebron 1 0n 1, but there is NO WAY you can back up your statement because you aren't comparing apples to apples. Lebron averages 29/7/7 and shoots 48% from the floor!!!

Kobe averages 27/6/4.... good numbers, but I bet he shoots a LOT more than Lebron does. His shooting percentage is 44%

As far as Kobe KILLING Lebron, as you say........

I would bet if they played 10 times, it would be 5-5. Kobe is a great, GREAT scorer and defender. But he SUCKS as a teammate. Who would you rather build a team around???

I will add this though...... if I was down by a point, and could choose between Kobe and Lebron to have the ball in his hand with 10 seconds left.................. I'd probably choose Kobe at this point in their careers, on the teams they are on. BUT.......... if Lebron had a supporting cast .... it would be a toss up. Right now, all they do in that situation is throw 3-4 guys at Lebron and make him give it up, or shoot a bad shot. Lebron doesn't have anybody to consistently knock that shot down.... yet.... (Boobie is close!)

By the way... you KNOW hamstrings don't heal in 3 days!!!!! Lebron played a great defensive game against Kobe. Moved his feet, didn't reach, put himself in a position to slow him down. NOBODY is gonna stop Kobe. If you can slow him down, and hold him under his average..... you're doin' work!!!

The Cleveland Cavaliers have fined Damon Jones an undisclosed sum after the point guard refused to come off the bench for the final minute of their Christmas Day victory over the Miami Heat.

And Jones wasn't alone in his digression, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reported on Friday. Guard-forward Ira Newble also declined to enter the game at that point, saying he wasn't physically ready to play, the newspaper said.

Just what our young athletes need, another fine example of players with the audacity to tell the coach what they will and will not do:thumbsdown:

I like the comments posted at the bottom of the article; especially the one about starting them for 45 seconds and then sitting their behinds down.

Cavs beat the Raptors with an amazing 4th quarter by Lebron.

I believe that the Cavs are currently 6th in the East. I look for them to eventually finish 4th.

Because he know's that we are right. I guess he is two down. If James wouldn't have got hurt they would have been 6 or 7 games over 500.

Cavs continued their torrid road trip with a 35 point SPANKING of the Washington Wizards who had won 7 of their last nine.

The Cavs scored 43 points in the third quarter, and sent the starters to the bench for the night..............

Not sayin that my bet with Empty Pants is a done deal, but, I feel a lot better about it now......

Cavs bench has been AWESOME!!!! Not a one man team here!

Z had 24 and was perfect from the floor tonight......

Final score 121-85!!!!!!!!

Record now at 23-18.... 4th place in the East!!!

DAWGH8R,

I'll tell you what. LeBron James and his new look charges played pretty well in their decimation of Memphis.

As of right now, they are in fourth in the Eastern Conference. They're better off in that position. They may have a better chance at beating Boston than Detroit if a potential rematch happens. If it happens, they'll be getting a very angry Pistons team that wants to take back the Eastern Conference title.

And you know what RAW, that God-fearing, Black Muslim thinks of LeBron James and their fans.

How can you be God-fearing AND a Black Muslim? I thought they worshipped Allah. Just some more of Keno's inaccurate BS being thrown out there.

i agree! i was watching highlights yesterday and they looked pretty fun to watch. unfortunately i don't get to see many games down here.

being an alum of miami u., i'm really happy to see wally in a cavs jersey. i was hoping the cavs would draft him, but then minnesota took him right before cleveland had a chance.
