Looks like the team that knocked off Charlotte Independence team is sneaking in as an 8 seed.

Although I will support Northwest and Hilliard Darby, my enthusiasm for the playoffs rivals what I feel about this year's World Series.

I'd probably feel the same way even if this year's Tigers were in it (i.e., if they had snuck in at 6-4 or 7-3 in their current situation, instead of the 9-1 this team could/should have been).

Congrats to NORTHWEST !! A team that is truly 'blue-collar' and does things teh right way !! That program has developed into something special. They are moving to DII at the next assessment, so I hope they run the rack in DIII this year !!!

Their one nemesis year after year, Steubenville, is in DIV. Maybe the Indian Nation can run the table in '07!

I think that Licking Valley will present Northwest with a very good game, if they should meet.

I'd like to see CCC play Steubenville again.

True- Their only loss was to Hoover 45-40 early in the season. I think they were a force last year as well.

How do we know that they will be moving to DII? Granted, they're very close to the current cutoff, but the line between DII and DIII will also be moving up.

Did anyone notice Germantown Valley View making the playoffs at 5-5? That coach was one of our finalist also, with Russ Jacques at Strongsville. Strongsville also made the playoffs at 9-1 I believe.

It is very likely that Big Red and CCC may face each other again. I personally can't take too many more games like the last one. I almost had a heart attack in Canton..

Roll Red....is there a Steubenville message board similar to this? I gotta watch someone during the playoffs and I want on your bandwagon!

I have a lot of respect for both football programs. I never played against CCC, but did against Big Red.

Even thought we beat them by pretty good scores ... I could hardly move Saturday morning from all the bumps & bruises. Tough kids from down on the river.

MTown,

There used to be a site called bigredtalk.com, but I don't think is has been up and running for some time. The closest thing I can think of is the huddle. The games can be heard on line at rollredroll.com

Thanks for the kind words Obie. As I've stated earlier, Big Red fans have a tremendous amount of respect for the Tigers and pull for them quite often.

I don't want to hear it online...I want to go!

My buddies and I are planning on our first trip to Steubenville for the CVCA game (we are younger generation Tiger fans that didn't get to experience the AAC).

Any chance this game (if played) is at PBTS or Fawcett? What other potential early round games might be played at either site? The OHSAA seems to like CCC stadium for smaller division schools.

IF Mooney vs Steubenville happens, they'll have to play it in a stadium like PBTS or Fawcett. That game would have big time state-wide appeal and I'm sure there would be a huge walkup crowd.

Mtown,

The Big Red Nation will be in full effect, especially come playoff time. It would definitely be worth the trip to the ville, you will not be disappointed. Death Valley will be rocking.

As far as the location for a potential CCC vs. Big Red match up, OHSAA seems to find the smallest stadiums to hold Big Red playoff games. I would like to see it held at PBTS. Massillon has been very to good to my beloved Big Red, especially over the last two years. Plus, everything runs smooth (seating, parking, concessions, etc...) but no one asks my opinion.

Got any recommendations for places to eat down there?

Walking distance to the stadium you have McDonalds, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Wendys. There is a Damons about 3 minutes away from the stadium on University Blvd. If you make it down early enough, I recommend Naples Spaghetti House, which serves home made Italien food which is extremely good. It is downtown, which is still only 5 minutes away from the stadium and a block away from Big Red High School. There are also some restaurants at the Ft. Steuben Mall.

MTown,

Steubenville vs. Youngstown Cardinal Mooney would definitely be a matchup worth salivating over! The proven veteran Reno Saccocia against the young and talented P.J. Fecko...bring it!
