Great video and story. Glad Brian and your family are here in Massillon.
Ditto:thumbsup: I missed it also, but my kid and her friends came home from Kent for the game today and were telling us how they had seen it up there and how it had made them proud to be from Massillon in front of all of their other NEO schoolmates!

Congrats to Brian. He has came a long way since I coached him in freshmen baseball. He was a quiet kid but a hardworker. Tell him to keep working hard and hit the weights hard and get ready for next season.

Brian is truly a joy to be around (unless you are standing opposite of him on the gridiron). He is a tough, coachable kid who looks you straight in the eye when you speak with him. Brian plays “big”, fast and full out!
The first thing #19 said to me during the Middletown game was “that field out there is MY playground- I LOVE IT!” That my friends are the words of a TIGER!
I briefly spoke with Brian after the game Saturday. I told him to savor ever second of the big win over McKinley. I also told him that 31 days after next Monday (today- Oct 29th) that I better see his (self) in the weight room. He just smiled, hugged me ands said “it won’t be 31 days until I’M in the weight room.”
GO TIGERS! BEAT AKRON BUCHTEL! :trophy:
I met Brian last spring when he was on the track team. I was talking to him and he told me about hurrican Katrina and the families relocating. It was very nice and polite.
Congrats to him and his family. He played a heck of a game and are glad that he arrived to Tiger town. Continued success in all of your endeavors.:weightlift:

To Brian and his family...
You've probably heard it before. People around here have a saying " ONCE A TIGER, ALWAYS A TIGER!" Sorry it took so long for me to say this but welcome to TIGERTOWN. Better late then never... I hadn't heard your story until now. Thanks so much for letting it be told. You all have much to be proud of and thanks for coming up and making "us" as a cummunity better for it. God Bless. Go Tigers and Once a Tiger Always a Tiger!!!:no1:

I got a nice photo of your son talking with his coach after the McKinley game. Shoot me your address and I'll send it to you.

I haven't talked to Brian, but I do have a nephew on the team that speaks very highly of him. Kids are pretty smart when it comes to judging character, and Brian seems to pass the "teammate" test very well.
Tigertown is a little better because of you and your family WANTING to be a part of what we have here. Thanks for being an example of what it means to come in here and embrace the tradition. Because of your attitude and work ethic, the tradition is proud to embrace you and your family.
Go Tigers!!
The work starts NOW!

What a mature young man Brian is. The video clip was great -- thanks for passing along. I wish the Arelt family all the best and am happy that you have found happiness in Tigertown -- the greatest place to be. We'll all be watching young Brian next year. Hopefully, down the road, he can attain the rest (2/3) of his goals by playing for the Buckeyes and Browns. Right now, we're honored to have him as a Tiger!

Wow! I had not heard of this before. Truly inspirational.
Brian, you truly have the HEART of a TIGER -- Dreams, Determination, Desire.
So happy that you "chose" Tigertown and looking forward to cheering you on next season.
(and...wasn't that McKinley game fun??????!!!!!!).:gotigers:
God Bless You & Your Family -- we are so fortunate to have you here

Did not know a thing about this; what a gift Katrina sent our way. Brian you are what being a Tiger is all about; and that goes beyond being a football player. The video of you is an inspirational example of someone who is thrown into a situation that is beyond their control and moves on to make the best of it. Thanks TIGER Brian; anticipating seeing you next year.

I just want to say I am so proud of my nephew. I have never seen high school football like I saw this weekend. I live in TN and I am hoping to move to the area in the near future. I just want to say it brought tears to my eyes just watching my nephew on the news and playing ball. I am just so proud of what he has done. I am always checking the scores after ever game. I love what the community does for the kids and the program.

awesome video!!
Brian - I hope that your story will continue to bring light to the people that were touched by Katrina. I know that you won't let the flame burn out.
Keep in mind where you can be and you'll get there. Just takes alot of hard work, but it's worth it ....
btw -- I'll be reserving my #19 OSU jersey....

Brian - We're so glad that you and your family are here in Tigertown. You're an awesome addition to the team and a true Tiger.
I'm curious about what motivated you to come to Massillon. Is your dad from Massillon?

This is the first I have heard of this story. I knew that Central Catholic had gotten a football player of two from the Katrina area but hadn't heard that we did. Well Welcome to Tigertown Brian and Family!! Hope you had an enjoyable year and a better one to come next year.. I was curious, how did you hear about Massillon or decide to come here? I always wonder that when I hear of people from different places that know about us?
Welcome Again! :no1:

To answer tigrwm I was aware of Massillon because my dad is from Cleveland, and we're big Browns fans, and partly because of Paul Brown. Many others find out about it from our amazing web site and when communities come together like Massillons community does for its football team, word spreads like wild fire. Just goes to show how rare it is for a community to be brought together by a highschool football team like Massillons.
To answer tigersrbest we are from Louisiana but lived in Jackson TWP for four years because of my dads job. I was six years old at that time and I fell in love with Massillon and decided that I would play for Massillon, OSU , then the Browns. After Katrina hit Louisiana my dad had the option to transfer and one of the options was Massillon. And here we are today.
P.S. Thank ya'll for everything
