Great idea. Can we start the season over now? :)

Maybe the new wrinkle will turn into something more permanent next year, especially if Love keeps improving. Not a whole lot of downside to having your best athlete at QB.

Or getting the ball more than once or twice.

I agree. If several of us posters mentioned this concept back in August, how can a former Div. I assistant not realize that this was his best use of talent until now?

I know I know. I reckon most of us waited all year to see this kid run the ball, and feel a little "short-changed." Its been frustating for all.

In all seriousness, I am really high on Partridge at QB next year too, and Ryder should be improved, and we have Clark back. Hopefully they DEVELOP! Lol.

I will also be anxious to see what we do w/ our speed/strength program this year. We have Dingler, Westfall, Myers all back, and a few guys 300#'s(++) who hopefully manage to lose (not gain more!) weight, if for no reason than general health. I mean we a are a sports medicine school aren't we?

Dr. Goff's quote in the Rep article about 300 lb players caught my eye. He said he was "amazed by the Mentor offensive line" who average about 220 lbs. "In high school football, it's about speed, not size." Hopefully, our coaches think about that over the long winter in the weightroom.

Same reason why Podder, Daily, and alot of others were under used last year! When are we going to learn that the best 11 need to be on the field WHEREVER they are needed---PERIOD!!!!!

Why do we put this in the paper before the game?? Didn't the coach ever hear of a SECRET weapon??

True- Also with injury reports.

I'm glad this guy wasn't leading the Allies into D-Day.

Even if the coach says it the Inde shouldn't report it. That paper doesn't really care about the Massillon Tigers, all they care about is selling papers.

I dont know when we are going to learn.....one of the biggest SNAFU's ever was not playing Ellery Moore at TE......I would of also liked to have seen someone throw a fade to Crable........I could go on.......but

PUNK THE PUPS.......

Maybe they are not going to use Turner at qb. They are just saying they are so the pups plan a defense around him. In turn we are going to use the same boring offense we used all year long to trick them. As for Turner he probable will kick extra points????

We have been doing this for three weeks now - I think McKinley knows without reading the Indy:suspect:

JT has scored two TDs from the QB position in the last 3 games!

Do you go to the games or just make up stuff to whine about!

They used JT last week several times at the qb position, so it is not a secret.

We shouldn't need secrets. If you need trick plays and trick formations to win games, your not a very good football team. I think we should have lined up in this much earlier in the season, but that's all under the bridge now. I think we line up in this a couple of times, but for the most part I think we can pound the ball at the pups for 4 solid quarters and come away with the win. Maybe even throw the ball a little :smartass: .

If we would have used him in week 2 against Solon we would be playing week 11. Only took 7 weeks of a season to figure out we could go to him in the gun.:wall:

#56tigerdad...PREACH!!! Lol. I agree! Solon 10-3? With J.T. at QB, i know for a fact he would have put us in scoring position! If not a TD! Justin Turner IS and WELL be the missing link to our Offence! BOTTOM LINE. :furious:
GO TIGERS!!! BEAT THE HELL OUT OF MCKINLEY!!!! :furious:

Not to be mean or anything, but have you ever thought that Mckinley has been scouting us for the last 3-4 weeks? Some folks on here worry that all of our opponents come on here to find out our secrets, like trick plays or injuries. Hey folks, all they gotta do is read the newspaper! Injuries are in the paper EVERY week.

I mentioned earlier in the year that maybe the DT, JT, and KJ could line up in the backfield and just have a direct snap to one of them. Our middle school and high school teams did this and were pretty successful. One of the three was accurate enough that we could also pass 4-5 times a game for big yardage plays as well.

The following paragraph speaks volumes to me about our current head coach.

“We’ve wanted to get J.T. involved with our offense all year,” Stacy said Thursday as he prepared for Saturday’s contest with McKinley at Fawcett Stadium. “When you’re an I-formation team, it’s difficult. He’s not a fullback. He can play wide receiver, but I think it’s difficult to play wide receiver and defensive back and tailback. I just think it’s really difficult to learn all of those.”

Isn't our head coach a former division 1 college football coach on the offensive side of the ball? It takes him 9 FREAKING weeks to FINALLY figure out how to get arguably our best overall athlete the FREAKING football?

I really liked the quote "When you're an I-formation team, it's difficult"
What the he-l is that? That indicates to me that he is totally unable to use his talent to it's fullest extent. He has to try to make his talent fit into his offensive scheme, instead of fitting his scheme to his talent.

This totally amazes me. This season can't end soon enough...........I guess it can wait until we kick the snot out of some freaking bulldogs!!!

Keep in mind, Turner was a quarterback in the lower levels. I am sure that he can still throw a pass here or there!!

Maybe that is part of the problem. A high school coach doesn't get to choose his players. He needs to adapt his system to the types of players he has. A college coach is more able choose players who fit his system, and wouldn't have to change his system as much. Maybe this distinction between high school and college has been part of the reason for Stacy's struggles this year...just a thought.
