My brother coaches in Iowa. The state sets there conferences for them. They have around 6-7 teams in each conference and must play them all, then they fill the rest with who ever the school wants. This way the teams in their conference, or region have to play each other. Do you guys think this would work in our state? I sure think that it would end the trouble of a difficult schedule to fill.

Who thinks we have a difficult schedule to fill? Oh yeah, the AD too busy taking out the Fed's trash to go try and FIND a quality schedule. Stupid post, and probably posted to start trouble anyway. Let me save you the trouble. It's EASY to fill a schedule if you're out doing your freaking job.

CarlE, Out of curiousity, where and for how long were you an AD?

OK, to satisfy your curiousity. Nowhere and no length of time. First, it doesn't pay enough. Second, Einstein I can PROMISE you this. I KNOW the AD couldn't do my job. I suspect I COULD do his. And I KNOW I could fill a freaking schedule two years in advance. And I KNOW that I would never make an idiotic statement like taking out someone's trash to get into their league.

I'm hoping that satifies your curiousity. If not, come back for more. There's plenty where that came from.

Let me add to that.....I can name 20 people just from MP that could do the job. It's not rocket science to pick up the phone and make a few calls, then walk around the building for a few hours watching the kids walk by. Schools from Ohio should be calling Massillon to try to schedule us, just for the privelage of playing in PBTS against the Tigers! In the business world, we call that "having leverage". The budgeting portion of the job is also simple. The Treasurer gives you so many M&M's, and you pass them out to the various coaches. When you run out, you ask for more. Like Carl said, I could do that job also, and probably mine at the same time.

It was a great movie but I do not think it was filmed in Iowa. Still thinking of great Iowa football players.

CarlE, Any modest response I could make would not be significant enough to bear legal protection, but if they would, that protection would be a copyright not a patent. Thanks anyway. Oh, and bye the bye, I WAS an AD for ten years, and I'm sure you are correct in that you COULD do the job. Thanks for your input. GO TIGERS BEAT McKinley!!!
