Remember this?

From Todd Porter's latest prep notes column (the usual TP disclaimer applies):

"These are crazy times in Stark County. Powerhouse high school football programs McKinley and Massillon are a combined 1-5. A few minutes after Massillon lost to Division II Normandy, Tigers head coach Tom Stacy didn't need to be Carnac to know what was around the corner. 'There's going to be a lot of finger pointing out in the community," Stacy said, "but we have to stay together.' The finger pointing didn't start days later. It started hours later. A quick tour of a few message boards revealed what some of the shut-ins on these forums do with their time. "

He continues...
"This is the third week of the season, people. Three weeks does not a season make. I'm betting a homemade ham and cheese sandwich that Massillon (1-2) or McKinley (0-3) gets in the playoffs, and I'm throwing in potato chips that says the Massillon-McKinley game will have a bearing on which one gets in."

It looks like someone has some sandwiches to make. My earlier offer of serving food to the truly needy (including shut-ins) still stands Todd.

He needs to think before he writes. He has insulted this "internet website shut in."

I would like lettuce and tomato on my ham and cheese.

Anyone send him an email to remind him of this?

Porter responds in today's column:

SAMMIES FOR ALL

A few weeks back, we predicted - even put a ham-and-cheese sandwich on the line - that Massillon and McKinley would still mean something in the postseason.

Well, we were wrong. But here's the thing: No one bothered to take the offer. Ham and cheese stays in the fridge.

Guess he doesn't read these forums after all. http://www.btlsfan.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

He most only read it when it is convenient for himself.

Also, notice how in the original article he says "I'm betting..." Then today it becomes "we were wrong."

Kind of amusing.
