Good. He deserves it. There's enough troubles with guns already, we don't need to see anymore end up in the hands of would be trash-arrogant, small, screwy, egotistical, demeaning sons-of-monsters.

Guns kill people the same way spoons and forks make Rosie O'Donnell fat. This same school would probably kick a kid out for saying "under God" when he recites the Pledge of Allegiance.

For drawing a picture of a stick figure with a squirt gun? Seems awfully fantastic, unbelievable, cretinous, keno-esque, idiotic, nonsensical, goofy, simple-minded, totalitarian, uptight, paranoid, imbecilic, delusional, does it not?

Obie Wan,

Guns kill people in this day and age. No kid needs to even think about drawing a gun let alone wanting to use one!

Did you become awfully, nasty, gnashing, radically, yacking, jealous, appalled, yanked, notably, embittered? I believe you have  !

That kid is nothing more than a demeaning, avaricious, malevolent, nasty, candy arrogant, senseless, slighted pupil who needs to worry about his phonics instead of fantasizing about a gun...I don't care what it is! There are enough .22's, .38's, .45's, .357's, .380's, rifles, machine, sub-machine, and so many guns of the world...we don't need kids even drawing them given today's nation!

From the picture you cant really tell it was a squirt gun. The school sent the right message, dont bring this type of stuff into school....

LOL Dr.S!

Keno, listen to what you are saying about a 2nd grader!

"That kid is nothing more than a demeaning, avaricious, malevolent, nasty, candy arrogant, senseless, slighted pupil who needs to worry about his phonics instead of fantasizing about a gun...I don't care what it is!"

Have you lost your ever loving mind or what? That is absolutely ridiculous to make such a statement based on a stick drawing:bomb:

My boys(neither of a violent nature) used to draw pictures all the time of army men, GI Joe and such , should I have had them incarcerated?:poke:

LOL! some of you guys are just killin me!

I have to agree with Kam. My girls are too young for this, but I can remember my brothers and me doing this as kids. Now, we might not be the rocket scientists that my parents dreamed of, but we didn't shoot em up on the school playground either. And with a cop for a dad, we sure had access to alot of weapons. I can understand the "zero-tolerance" stance. but I still think that a lot of other contributing factors need to be looked at. Like they say, guns don't kill people; people kill people. I just wish I had the good ideas on where to start to put an end to this growing problem.

Kamd50,

There's enough trouble with guns already. Kids saying they're going to use them...kids drawing them...kids developing a fascination to them.........

I know about the zero tolerance policy and if a kid is not allowed to draw a gun, then darn it, he should follow the rules.

Being a 1971 graduate of Massillon in your day and age (yes...your day and age), your boys would have been allowed to draw pics of army men and G.I. Joe. No they should not be incarcerated.

But now in this day and age, a message has to be sent that this kind of thing will not be tolerated. And I apologize for referring to that 2nd grader for what I said...that was a stupid mistake on my part if I knew you was going to make an interception of my post but understand that kids need books, friends, teachers, mentors, and love......not guns. I'd hate to see some ending up the likes of the Edward Lee Langs, the Marcellus Tryell Hudsons, the Traynal Lenone Sherrells, the Michael Dean Scotts, the Apollo Suyan Williamses and so on...but you get the message.

what A Bunch Of Happy Horse Manure!!!

How Out Of Hand Have We Become??? Kids Can No Longer Be Kids...it Was A Drawing For Goodness Sakes...did Anyone Take The Time To Ask The Kid Why He Drew It??? I Doubt It. We Are In Such A Hurry To Be "politically Correct" These Days, That We Don't Stop To Ask Simple Questions Before Freaking Over Little Things...

Kids Get Into Trouble For Every Little Thing...the Next Thing We Know, They Will Be In Trouble For Farting (toxic Gas, You Know...biological Warfare)

I Know How Kids Think..."if I Am Going To Get Into Trouble Over Ever Little Thing I Do, I May As Well Do Something Huge...

It Becomes A Case Of The "forbidden Fruit"...the More Something Is Forbidden, The More Enticing It Becomes.

Maybe If Some Adult Would Have Taken The Time To Ask Some Simple Questions Of These People Who Did End Up Being Shooters...just Maybe, The Way Things Turned Out Wouldn't Been What They Were...

Maybe This Is A Cry For Help...but, No One Will Ever Really Know Unless The Right Questions Are Asked...

This Is As Bad As That Little First Grader That Got Into Trouble Several Years Ago Fro Kissing A Little Girl On The Cheek...sexual Harrassment, You Know...

Come On, People...let's Have Some Perpective On Things...take A Deep Breath...ask A Simple Question ...and Lighten Up Just A Bit...and Let Kids Be Kids ...and Maybe Even Use This Incident To Be A Teaching Moment...as To Why Guns Might Be Bad...or How To Use Them In Proper Ways...

Well said,Shortbev. When I was little,we had squirt guns,we had cap guns,we played cops and robbers,we played cowboys and indians...OOPS-I MEAN NATIVE AMERICANS...we had G.I.Joes,toy soldiers;we had our imaginations to use. When we were older,we were taught how to properly handle and respect a firearm.Unfortunately, society has changed, and it has changed for the worse.

Keno,

Your comments in this thread are some of the dumbest I've ever seen you make here. (and I'm honestly trying to be kind) I would say what I truely think of your opinion, but I fear I would be banned and you may no longer consider me a friend.

Guns in the hands of criminals are bad, I agree, but to criminalize the actions of a 2nd grader who DREW a picture of a pistol? That's just insane and anyone who thinks that way is an idiot plain and simple.

Guns save thousands of lives a year in the hands of honest, law abiding citizens all over this country year in and year out. Matter of fact in just about every state in the USA where they have passed concealed carry laws, the percentage of violent crimes (Murder, robbery, rape etc.) in that state has decreased....This is a well documented fact.

Fyrewood,

It wouldn't make a difference to me. I've been called stupid, ignorant, immature, insecure, manipulative, narcissistic, judged negatively as a person for all the wrong reasons...and worse for that matter by people I don't even know. But in the long run, I don't make anything of what others say about me as that is their every right. And if they aren't willing to tell it to me in person, why do I feel the need to worry about it?

If you want to say it, go right ahead...it won't make a difference to me, heck I'll see to it myself that you not get banned. I have always had respect for you as a person and that won't change.

But I'll take the responsibility for my comment about the second grader. You could say at best it was a "VERY classless post  ." It might not have been the most prudent thing to say and for that, I hold myself accountable. It's just that I'm tired of hearing about young kids getting suspended for this kind of thing and in a way, I want it to stop. I just believe that kids need to worry more about school assignments and not so much about what is being discussed on this topic.
