View Full Version : Calling all lurkers

Marie

Since we have a new forum I would like to encourage all lurkers to post in this thread. Tell us something about yourself, where you are or why you like the Tigers. In the old forum we had a lot of members but many members were only lurkers.

Come on. Become a poster. We are all family here, although sometimes it is dysfunctional.

Go Tigers:gotigers:

Geez, Marie I thought you were going to ask us to come stand behind the fence and watch you practice your cheerleading moves in the backyard for the tailgates this year!!!:drinkem:

You think how fast and furious people signed up again that they'd want to talk. Fact is, people really only want their Tigers info.

But Marie has a point. At least say Hi! Who knows it may be the beginning of a new friendship!

Honest to goodness. I've never understood how you could sign up, just come in and read all the classic information on here and then choose not to participate. It's like going to the Chicken Ranch out in Vegas and well.....plucking chickens. Makes NO sense. None whatsoever!!

Back in Massillon Proud BC (Before Crash) I "lurked" (that almost sounds, well never mind) and enjoyed coming on here, like Obiefan said, and reading all the great stuff on here....
Most of the time I was a work and swung by when I was researching other stuff on the web (work stuff). Of course, I came on here mostly during football season.

When The Great Crash of 2006 took place, I thought for a moment that it was over, like it was late in the fourth quarter and Bill and Joe weren't laughin' about something as the clock ticked down, but instead they were rather subdued. Despite the loss of everything we had here, even us lurkers, I knew we'd survive, that there was another Greg Wood to Eddie Bell pass in the playbook for us to keep the tradition going.

Ditto! I just read MP via my husband's account. And then all of a sudden I don't know what possessed me to open an account and start posting, but I bet there are some who wish I hadn't:hug:

I've been around almost from TTT's inception and after a few bumps in the road and "orange" barrels, I keep finding my way "home" to MP.com. I think most of you have accepted me as a member of your family for which I'm indeed greateful.

It's the one forum I turn to. The college posts are filled with phony intellectuals and can be very mean-spirited.

To me, MP.com is the best forum on the internet.

I love history and tradition and Massillon gives me both plus some very, very nice posters.

It is my privilege to be a poster.

OK, I'll make my first post ever. Thanks for welcoming me as a member and a "newbie". I really appreciate the way you have all made me feel welcome. Warren1st, you're a good man, but Michigan STILL sucks.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

CarlE, NEWBIE?! Then I must be a babe-in-arms indeed! BTW, thanks for the Miami tips. We had a great time and now whenever we even get near the airport in Zurich my 3 yr. old says, "Mommy, wanna fly to my-AM-me!".

I love, love, love lurking on MP. With 2 small munchkins I don't have much time to post (heated discussions can sometimes be a tad time consuming), but I love the info and learning a little more about what is going on "at home". I speak to the parental units every week, but MP is like "and now the other side of the story" for me. Makes me a little more informed for my annual visits. Looking forward to being there earlier this year and catching a football game or two. Hope I can finally witness one of these infamous tailgate parties! Sounds like some of the best meals in town are served up there...in more ways than one!

Ciao!

Maybe you should have a rule that people who NEVER post lose their membership after so long.

Come on people contribute!! We want to hear from you!!

I'll take the bait.

My name is Marc. My old user name was Azman01. I just moved back to Ohio from Arizona (which is funny now with Hamilton) and can't wait for Football season to start!!

I just got married last week and I work at GG Grim Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Dalton. So if anyone is looking for a new Dodge or a nice pre-owned car just stop by and ask for me!

Welcome back to Ohio and congratulations to you and your bride:smile:
So, tell us, is it true what they say about the "dry" heat out there being more bearable?lol

OK. I'll take the plunge and make my first post. I've been lurking for about a year now. I recently relocated from Massillon to South Florida. I really enjoy keeping up on Massillon's news via this forum. Massillon is a one of a kind community and I really miss it. Go Tigers!

Thank you, Thank you....ya know I always said "hot is hot, no matter if its humid or high temp", but I'm starting to reconsider that after this summer. I'm really having a tough time adjusting to the heat and humidity in Ohio for some reason. Maybe though could be right that it's a dry heat!!! lol

One nice thing about this weather is that is goes away though. You might have a rough couple of days, but then you get something like today where it's just BEAUTIFUL outside!!! In AZ, you know it's gonna be over 110 every day from June-Aug.

I don't know much other about them besides what everyone else knows....The only thing I can question about them is how good the compitetion is out there. AZ football seemed to me like 3rd world countries....You have a few great ones at the top and the rest are just bottom feeders. I'm sure they will bring a great team, but I just don't know what kind of opponents they have been facing.

They should get a surprise when they walk into Paul Brown and see the 18,000 + seats that we have compaired to the 3-4,000 seat stadiums they all have out here.

longtimefirsttime

I agree. Their stadium seats 6-thousand. Thanks for the post. That seems to be the general consensus, Arizona football is down as a whole but don't take them lightly.

Marie, after this weekend it looks like you finally got your wish. Those "lurkers" are starting to come out of the woodwork. Unfortunately not all of them are for the best reasons.

There is really only one issue that needs to be discussed this week. Get behind this team and show your support more than ever. At this point in the season there is nothing we can do about the past. Forget it, it's over.
GO TIGERS BEAT Iggy

Okay, I guess I'll introduce myself.

My name is Missy and I currently live in Orrville, but building a house in Wooster. I have always loved high school and college football. I started going to Massillon games almost weekly last year with my husband and father-in-law, they never thought I was interested until I finally told them I wanted to go too. I also come on here to get info. I went to Northwest so Massillon games are a lot different than what I grew up with.

Jobdone,

I for one, never saw your posts as "bashing". I saw them as honest opinions from someone who had first hand knowledge of the way things are/were done here. Some people can't see or handle the truth, no matter how much info or proof you put in their face and will defend certain people in town no matter what....You know the type, the ones who could watch the Mayor fall in a pool, see him get out dripping all over, but when confronted still deny that he had ever gotten wet.(I think you remember one in particular that I am talking about, thank god she no longer posts here.)

Anyways, no matter what anyone else thought, from someone else who has "been there", I for one actually enjoyed reading your opinions and posts on city matters...They must have hit close to home for someone, cause they sure stirred up a lot of "crap"....no pun intended LOL.
