Great lets hope they pull it out.
I know Partridge had a very rough outing not making it out of the 1st quarter. Who is #15 ?

#15 is JJ Litman

Matt Patterson had a VERY nice interception to end Stubenville's final drive and the Tigers let the clock run down...

.. it was a VERY good game.. close the whole time... Congratulations JV Tigers!

Do you mean play US at the varsity level?
That is a good question.

We haven't played Big Red since 1978. I know Shepas tried to get a contract signed by nothing ever came of it. It would be nice to play them again, they have a great program.

It's a no-win situation. I would like to see them play, but from a Harbin standpoint....................................

If you lose the game, you got beat by a D--IV team, if you win, you were supposed to.

I know that we have played "other" lower division teams, so.....................

If they really want to play a good , (next year) DII team, Northwest would be a good sign. We could be playing them for regional Titles in the near future.

I've always had a LOT of respect for the BIG RED program !!

Great job JV's. I'd like to see Steubenville on the varsity schedule again one day, but I don't expect it anytime soon.

From a Harbin standpoint, they would likely be a goldmine. Beating them this year would give us more points than any team on our schedule.

From a financial standpoint, they would outdraw every other team on the schedule (save McKinley) by thousands.

From an atmosphere standpoint, it would a game like we haven't seen in a long time.

There is no reason not to play them.

BFD. You don't get any points for losing to anybody. And you're supposed to win the games you're supposed to win. It beats the hell out of playing teams like Western Hills.

Why would you play Northwest and not Hoover, Lake, Perry, ...? You sure wouldn't give them a home-and-home, because their stadium is about the size of Tuslaw's.

Hey Joe, Was wondering if you got any shots of #66 Jacob Westfall at last nights game during the 4th quarter. He is a friend of mine and he finally got into his first varsity game this year and its a moment I and his family would like to remember. Let me know how much you would like for them.

I'd rather beat an 8-9 win Stuebenville DIV team than a winless DII Western Hills or Canada or Wash DC.

Western Hills is D-I. Anyway, from what I remember hearing,at the varsity level,Steubenville doesn't want anything to do with Massillon. It's a crying shame, cuz that would be a great battle every year, regardless of division status.

Let's see about that. Let's look at what our opponent's records would be and the points we'd have from each if we were 7-0:

................... L1 .... L2 .. points
Middletown (4-3): .. 6 ... 24 ... 3.2814
Solon (4-3): ....... 6 ... 23.5 . 3.2309
Normandy (5-2): .... 5.5 . 28.5 . 3.6140
Ursuline (6-1): .... 4 ... 33.5 . 3.9553
Mentor (4-3): ...... 6 ... 24 ... 3.2814
Ignatius (5-2): .... 6 ... 29 ... 3.7864
Buchtel (1-6): ..... 5.5 .. 5.5 . 1.3413
Warren (3-4): ...... 6 ... 17 ... 2.5743
Western Hills (1-6): 6 .... 5.5 . 1.4127
McKinley (2-5): .... 6 ... 12 ... 2.0693

7-0 Steubenville is worth 4.5 L1 points and 38 L2 points. Say Steubenville had scheduled us instead of a D2 team. At 6-1, they would be worth 32.5 L2 points, for a haul of 3.9257. That's worth more than every team on our schedule save Ursuline now. When you consider the likely final records (Steubenville 9-1/10-0 (maybe lose to Central), Ursuline 8-2 (lose to Mooney)), it looks like Steubenville would, indeed, be worth more Harbins than any other team on the schedule.

The interesting thing here is that it should be very obvious that lower division teams can be very reach in Harbins. You can't win in the playoffs if you don't qualify. Perhaps we should adjust our scheduling philosophy to acknowledge that fact.

These are the current Harbins garnered by each team !!!
Those numbers don't matter. Remember, we don't get anything from another school's L2 points. Their L1's are our L2's. Their L2's mean nothing to us.

We were very close to having an open week 9 .
CWH wanted out of the contract after they fired their head coach.

I didn't know that. You would think that once a school signs a contract, they would stick to their end of the deal. That's what makes me mad about Dover. They sign a two-year deal to play us,brag for a year about how they're going to kick our ass,get THEIR asses kicked 34-0,then say "We don't want you to embarrass our kids again,so let us out of the deal for next year."

Hello Tiger Nation. I've read these forums for several years and finally decided to sign up and throw my hat in the ring. The Big Red Nation has a tremendous amount of respect for the Tiger Program and it's tradition. There are many in Steubenville, myself included, who feel that this game is long overdue. According to my sources, the last time Massillon and Big Red attempted to work out a contract, Massillon wanted two home games and one away, with the first two games being played at Massillon. Big Red wanted a home and home deal. Apparently their was an impass and no deal was ever worked out. I'm not sure if this is true or not, again, just what I heard. As far as Big Red not wanting any, lol, Big Red will be LOADED for the next several years, and I'd be willing to bet that Reno isn't too intimated. I hope in the future, the powers that be can make this a reality since it would be the biggest game in Ohio. Good luck the rest of season.

What's your seating capacity? I've seen pictures of the stadium, looks like a great place to play and it's looks like you guys have a pretty big production for your home games like Massillon does...I say let's do it...Wish we were playing this year in week #9, at least this way if (I'm being nice) we won we would have a better shot at the playoffs. Right now if the season ended today you would be playing a team right next door to me (Perry, Lake county not Massillon). If that were to happen, I'm coming down, I always wanted to see a game at your place.

And I believe him. The games would be barnburners too.

Unfortunately, its not up to coaches & players. Otherwise Perry, Jackson, and Glenoak would sign up tomorrow too. (I doubt Hertler though). The "bigwigs" tend to screw things up for everyone.

LakeCountyTiger,

It's definitely worth the trip to Steubenville to see a game. If you decide to make that trip, let me know. As far as seating goes, Harding Stadium holds around 10,000. Taking into account people standing along the fences and other areas, you could probably bump that number up to around 12,000. Additional info can be found on www.rollredroll.com I have yet to experience a Tiger game in Massillon, but it is definitely on my things to do list.

I will let you know if I come down there. I also saw the spot on Sunday night football a couple weeks ago. It was sweet to see that on primetime TV.
I dunno, the Tigers vs. The Big Red.... just seems right....
