Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums, but a regular visitor to massillonproud. I'm a Tiger at heart, not a fair weather fan. I'm raising my kids to be true Tigers, and to hold Massillon Pride in thier hearts 100%. I have a daughter who plays Massillon Soccer, and two boys who play Massillon Football for the Boys Club. The boy's teams, Junior White, and Senior Orange, are playing at the Tiger Stadium on Sunday, and when they step on that field I am the most proud parent in Massillon. Win or lose. Fortunately, Junior White is undefeated so far this season, and Senior Orange is 3 - 1. That's come with alot of hard work, long hours of practice, and plenty of scrimmaging, already at the ages of 9 and 11. You can see some video of them on youtube if you'd like. http://www.youtube.com/GoTigers3796 :gotigers: And anyone is always welcome to come to the games and watch our future Massillon Tigers in action! And by the way... I'm the guy on the front of the paper who painted the Tiger paws at Wendy's! Be sure and do your part to keep the Orange and Black in Massillon!

We need to close enrollment or weed out the *&#$% Transfers and get some MASSILLON boys playing. PERIOD! I think its a sad day when a transfer starts over a Massillon Born boy and then refuses to play what he is told to play. This particular transfer has yet to impress this Tiger Fan.

Why does it matter where a kid is born, as long as he's a hard worker and does what is asked of him and makes a difference on the field? That's just a goofy thing to say.

If I were you, I'd MUCH rather have a great player on the field who was born in Akron or Canton or Canal Fulton or wherever, rather than a kid born in Massillon if he's not as good. I would think any coach would agree- you play your best players, regardless of who they are or where they came from.

Also, Massillon's hospital no longer has maternity section , and hasn't for a while, so there are no boys being born in Massillon anymore anyways.

Speaking of real Massillon Boys... today my boys, who both recieved a Massillon Tigers Football, upon birth, in the MCH Maternity Ward, both played thier fifth games at the Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, and secured thier spot in the 2007 Midget League Playoffs!

Junior Massillon White : 5 and 0 * * *** UN-DE-FEA-TED! * * ***

Senior Massillon Orange : 4 and 1 TIG! ERS!

Check out http://tricountyyouthfootball.com/ for scores and game schedules, and come show your support for your up and coming REAL MASSILLON TIGERS!

*No I don't have anything against Tigers not born in Massillon, just VERY PROUD of my boys!

I notice that this post is OFF TOPIC.

:offtopic:

Did you notice they didnt even put the flags out on Saturday. They was put out on friday and not GAMEDAY. Many traditions in Massillon are dying and now its taking its toll on the field.

I really enjoyed your post! The video was Great! The boys look very happy to be playing football. Maybe in the future, you can put in a video of your daughter playing soccer. Again, thanks for sharing your Tiger family with us! I'm looking forward to watching your children playing for the Massillon Tigers! Chap

I agree with you CHAP 100%!

What I was trying to say is most people only use Massillon as a stepping stone and im sick of it. Im not gonna name names, but you know who they are and who they have been in the past.

Did you know.. Junior Massillon White is coached by Bob Dunwiddie. He does a good job with the boys; they're alot of fun to watch.
His son, Dakota, plays mlb and pulling guard... remember that name.

Only if the fans let it. When i live up there i never heard of the tradition falling apart. Win or lose we had it always. So don't let it die. Go TIGERS BEAT BUCHTEL

Now here's what I really don't get...

The stadium is always PACKED, so the fans aren't going anywhere. The question is, why has the visual support faded? I had this argument with Mayor Chiccinelli the day I painted the paws at Wendy's. Massillon still loves our Tigers, but we're not showing it. Anyone visiting Massillon ought to be completely intimidated by visual support for the Tigers. Every road entering Massillon, be it North South East or West, should SCREAM Tigertown! There should be absolutely NO QUESTION what town you are in, when you are in Massillon. And just to go back to Junie Studers comment in the Independent article, that he doesn't feel as strongly about this (fading traditions), and that winning is the important thing, well, sure winning is important, but SUPPORT for the team is half the battle. And with a whole 30,000 resident town backing them, any team would have the confidence to WIN! So it's my opinion that winning and support go hand in hand. And in Massillon, we have the best fans around, so let's show that support! God know's our Tigers need it right now! Break out the orange and black and let's show our team we're not giving up on them!
