A California youth football coach could face felony charges after charging onto the field and knocking a player from an opposing team down.
What a jerk! I hope this idiot gets some jail time for this. People with tempers like his shouldn't be around little kids in the first place.

I heard about this yesterday on local sports talk. This is the first time I've seen the video. Geesh, the late hit wasn't even that bad. He just kind of bumped him and knocked him over. This guy is a lunatic and should be jailed for this. What a moron.

CarlE,
In Dennis Miller talk, you mean "what a f(reak)in' moron." Low down, dirty, sick, crazed, rash, arrogant, snappy, stupid snake in the grass.

Did you see his face this morning on tv? The kid he tackled said his brother came on the field and whooped the coach pretty good! He desearves to go jail for child abuse!

Child abuse? Lets be a little realistic. It was bad but it wasn't THAT bad. I think a weekend in the pokey would send the right message. I wonder if the player that the bigger kid cheap-shotted was related to the coach or something?
It is amazing what we went through as kids and players 25-30 years ago and how that is all abuse now. (I only WISH my dad had pushed me down the time I broke out those 4 newly installed garage windows w/ one ball - oopsadaisy). Granted this guy definitely went over the line.

There is no defense for his actions, period. Charge him to the fullest under the provisions of the law and I agree his sentence should also include a ban on being around groups of kids. What a great example he set for his son.

If this guy did this in front of all those people just think of what he does at home.

I believe that I heard that it was the coaches son who was the recipient of the cheap shot, Red. Nevertheless, the guy made a complete ass out of himself. Which is probably the worse punishment he could get from this whole thing. He will have to live the rest of his life being referred to as the @sshole who tackled one of the opponents' kids. What a flipping idiot LOL! So much for his 15 minutes of fame !
He should never be allowed to coach again or even attend the games for that matter. I doubt if the kid really got hurt by him, it's the priniciple of the thing. It's one thing when a kid losses control over a situation like that, but a parent or coach is expected to have better self-control and lead by example. Once again, you gotta feel sorry for the kid that will probably be made fun of on dear old dad's behalf:wall:

It sucks that Woody went out like that. Both actions were inexcuseable. However at least Woody went after an adult, not a kid.

That guy is a punk and is an embarrasment to all of us who give our time to our youth. Not only does he desreve jail time , he should be banned from attending/coaching youth sports. The one who is most hurt by this is that idiots kid. What a poor excuse for a Dad. He is a blemish on the very title 'Father'. So your kid took a cheap shot. Teach him how to rebound- Im sure the kid will get cheap shots in life as well- adapt, and overcome.
