It sounds like the tigers just had a huge let down, but as weird as it may sound the tigers still can make the playoffs. If mck wins there next 3 games and go 5-4 into the game against us they might have just enough points for us to get in.The key though is for us to go 5-4 into the big game.

hey, 1940tigers, i've got some great swamp land for sale in florida if you think the tigers can pull that one off...
you are a true definition of an optimist...keep it up...for those of us who are probably more the "glass half empty" type

There's no chance. Best thing to do now is start building for next year. We've got a solid group of returnees next year and some good JV players. We need to get them some playing time, including Partidge at QB.
May even want to try out JT at running back to see how he'll do next year.

QB change no doubt...again, I think our starter now has tried his hardest but we have to think about next season, and if we don't get these young guys any work now then we will be faced with the same situation we had this season with regard to QB position...

Cue up the Jim Mora video. Just like Jim Mora said in that legendary post game press conference..."I just hope we can win a game." It's nice to be optimistic but come on. Massillon will not get in. Realistically, what 'damage' would Massillon do in the playoffs? Why not focus on grooming talent for next year while hopefully kicking McKinley's tail to put a positive note on the end of this season.
Tonight's loss can't be pinned on the kids. The defense played incredibly well. The defensive side was awesome.
The offense appeared as though there wasn't a gameplan. THAT couldn't have been the same 'O' that dropped over 50 on Mentor. Too much up the middle and runs to the short side of the field. Willoughby was running for his life on the few pass plays we ran and he ate the ball more times than he probably should have.

"There is a 0 % chance to make the playoffs, nor does this team deserve it."
I Don't agree with you !!!!!
How can you blame the whole team when only a few of the kids on the team are played? How can you blame all the kids when SOME don't show up for pratc. or not pratc all week and are still put in by the coaches . while the ones that were there are standing on the sidelines? How can you blame everyone for not playing their best when some are never shown that the hard work they do all year and never miss pratc. and for the reward they are still standing on the side lines when others are put in all the time??? and yes I know I said I would not post anymore. BUT PLEASE DON'T PUT THE KIDS DOWN. THEY DON'T DESERVE IT. They only can do what they are told.

If thats true, we moved the ball less then 100 yards all evening. Thats 57 yards of offense, we didn't have a kick off return and I know our punt return yardage was not 43 yards.

I just want to make it CLEAR that i love this team and those kids like my own. I do no wish any negativity towards them. Im just concerned that there is way to much political stuff happening in there and the coaches are not playing fresh meat. I think that some people need to speak out as well. If any coaches, family, or players read this. Im just wondering whats going on. This was supposed to be a promising team. NOT the best but a good start to something.
Like i said, im not trying to trash the tigers, im just saying what i have to say. hoping someone else see's where im getting at with it.
As i got warned for my expressing my opinon, im sorry. i was not trying to down talk anyone.
But on the other hand. why didnt the pull Chris out and let adkins in to play, he may not be tall but he looks like he may be quick and have a solid spirial.

With the weapons on offense this team has that is truly unbelievable but then again when the playcalling is so vanilla it doesnt really matter. It is comical when you think all week all we read and heard was how this was the beginning of the playoffs and how they had to beat Ig to even think about the playoffs. It was nice to see alot of changes put in this week and different sets and plays. :wall:

So your saying the team deserves to make the playoffs? Why? They will be lucky to have a winning record after 10 games. I am not going to sit here and say this kid or that kid doesnt deserve to make the playoffs because as a team they dont deserve to be in the playoffs because this TEAM isnt good enough. I dont think you understand when you say the team doesnt deserve to make the playoffs that isnt putting the kids down that is stating a fact, if little Johnny or Timmy cant handle that fact then they should have worked harder during 2 a days.
I just have to respond to this.... because I have seen it time and time again and I have finally had enough. To say that the kids who dont start didnt work hard or somehow should have worked harder during two a days is CRAP. Some kids have to bust their ass just to be decent and there still may be someone else in their position that is better. I would bet that there are some kids on the sidelines on Friday nights that work harder than the stars out on the field. It doesnt mean that they are better or should be the starters.... but am just saying...because a kid ISNT a starter doesnt mean that they havent worked hard. I applaud kids that go to practice and weightlifting everyday and even on optional days throughout the summer... to have their season consist of a whopping 36 seconds. THAT is dedication...

Just want to stop in and let you people know how disgusted I get over this. You people that sit in the stands and shout out belittlement things to the coaches, or the ones who constantly get on here and type post after post talking negatively about the coaches, players, or the program HAVE NO CLUE. These players here you fans that belittle the coaches, they get on this site and see all the bickering, and the blame game. Im not saying take it easy on them, they know they got a hob to do, they are Massillon. What I am sayin is support these kids. When things are tough, dont hop off the bandwagon and question the coaches. Let these kids be Tigers, and let the staff be a staff. All this outside negativity is bull. It is hurting our program. You people who yell at the games and complain after have no clue what is going on behind closed doors, or what adversity there is to deal with. You are all outsiders looking in, and you are assuming certain things that are not true. So do this, support your coaches, and team. Dont belittle them, but encourage.

Were a little frustrated. But who should take responsibility?Weve never been so soundly defeated by iggy.It was an embarrasment to every player, coach and fan in this city.I feel for the players, this is not their fault.they were put into a situation in which they were not prepaired.Three successive declining years makes you wonder. There really are no excuses,This program has every resource available to be the best.

Do we want it too badly? Do we care for the program and it's traditions too much? Are our expectations too high?
I think all of these things might be true, but that is what makes this place different.
Last week after the Mentor game I am mad. My wife says I should be happy we scored 52 points. WE LOST!!!!! I can't be happy with that!
I hurt when we lose. Almost physically sick. Is that wrong?
I hope not because when that stops happening, I won't care as much.
When I hear someone yelling "Paper Tigers", I just want to.............well enough said.
FRUSTRATION
I am just at a loss for words.

Just remember that the kids get on here and read all the negativity of the
fans.

Good luck the rest of the way Tiger fans.
That was the most unusual massillon team I have seen play, from the team on the field, to the halftime coaches/players discussion to the fans in the opposing stands. Something just didnt seem right.
A strong Massillon is good for OH HS football and I hope you get back there soon.

Now Im waiting for that thread that always comes up.....those fans were rude or they disrespected our band, a hotdog was thrown at me....

Stacy's in a tough spot - if he goes hard core disciplinarian and benches EVERY kid with an attitude, then he's not playing his best players. If he plays his best players and overlooks some stuff, then he's lost control.
That's not a "tough spot" at all - that's a no-brainer.

Alls i can say is im over it. And im ready for next week.

When the season is over, I will provide you with possible a line-up. Although, a lot can change over the winter with work-outs etc. I don't want to appear to be talking down about any players currently on the team.

What was really surprising to me about that game was that of all the IGGY teams that I have seen over the years, this years IGGY team was probably one of the worst. Their running game and passing game were not impressive. Their defense was good and their kicking game was good, but overall I their team was not impressive.

It's probably not fair to rate their defense as good. It's not like they were having to stop anything innovative for God's sake.

Iggy's team was strong where they needed to be to beat Massillon . Linebacker has always been a strong position for IGGY. Football has always been about matchups. This Massillon team simply did not match up well with IGGY. A team like IGGY that has good linebackers and a decent defensive line that is well coached will give a one dimensional team like Massillon fits.
Iggy beats Massillon not because they always have better talent, but because they have great coaches, discipline, above average athletes and players that understand the game of football
It was always said that Chris Spielman was to small and to slow to play pro ball. Look what discipline, coaching, and knowledge of the game did for him.
