Which MP3 player do you or your family members have?
What features do you like or dislike about your player? If given the opportunity again which one would you purchase?

I just have a CD/MP3 portable "walkman" type one that is collecting dust right now. However, i would LOVE to get an IPOD someday, but right now, is not a priority for me.

I "HAD" a Creative Zen Micro that I liked. I liked the fact that you could use "Napster to go" and pay 14.95 per month for unlimited downloads. The only catch was you didn't own the songs. If you cancel the sub. the license ran out. I like the Micro until it died and Creative wouldn't even touch it out of warrenty.:bs: I think I may get an Ipod Nano.

Son had a 1 gb ipod shuffle until I washed it... LOL

Now he has a 2 gb ipod nano, black. He bought this one with his own ca$h.

Wife has a "ilo" 1 gb

I use my 1 GB chip in my motorola Q phone, and listen either with the FM transmitter, or bluetooth headset...

Funny you should ask Al....I just got a Creative Labs Zen Sleek Photo (yeah I know it's a mouthful lol) about a week ago and I love it.

It's 20GB (holds up to 10,000 songs), besides playing MP3's it stores photos, is an FM radio, a voice recorder and can record off of the FM radio, plus it has a calendar, task organizer/date book and stores contact info (Names, addresses, phone, e-mail etc.) The only thing it doesn't do that the same size Ipods do is play video clips, but I didn't really need that feature.

Got it for $169.95 and $9.95 shipping from buydig.com

Same thing at Wally World is $199 plus tax.

It's not an "Ipod", but then I never have been one to follow the latest fad...

What the crap are you guys talking about? I have a transistor that I used to listen to "Viewpoint" on WHBC at 11:30 at night when I was supposed to be in bed. What is this MP3 and iPOD thing of which you speak?

I bet the family still gathers around to "watch the radio" when Amos and Andy airs.

Thanks, Al. And obiefan, if it's that little thin, overpriced piece of crap that comes with a stand and speakers that my dang 11 year old made me buy him then I guess I DO know what one is. I just don't have one.

I'm sure these devices are convienent, but i can't imagine the audio quality from those little things is anywhere near my 8-track.

I've got a 2GB iPod Nano, the wife has a 1GB Nano. I love mine, the only real complaint I have is the battery doesn't seem to last the advertised 14 hours.

If you have or plan on buying a black iPod, buy a case or cover for it. They scratch VERY easily.

We have an Ipod and Ipod Nanos. The sound is pretty amazing coming from these tiny devices. What I like is the large amount of accessories that are available for these items if you wish to expand or enhance their performance.

Both my wife and I have ipod Nanos and we both love them. I use it pirmarily in the car with an adaptor that allows it to play through the tape player. I have an older car with both a CD player and cassette deck. The nice thing is I no longer have the huge pile of CDs in my car and no more skipping.

Anyone use an FM transmitter for their iPod in the car? If so, how's the sound?

Very good point Pyromaniac. No more digging around with one hand trying to find the right tape or CD and fumbling around putting it in while you are trying to drive; or taking up space with their cases.

MTiger, I use a Belkin digital one. ($30 something at Walmart) you can run it off batteries or use a car charger plug. When I first tried it out with the batteries, I thought the thing was terrible and totally useless. Lots of static and the sound faded in and out....Then I tried the car charger plug and man what a difference! As long as you can find a blank frequency on your cars radio it sounds great...Maybe not quite CD quality, but pretty darn close.

It's great for long trips, but I did notice it was a little harder to keep a frequency when you get into a big congested city... I still think it was worth it though.

Buy anyone you want, as long as it has flash memory from SanDisk. I own the stock! LOL, all the way to the bank!

I just bought a tape deck adaptor, and it works really well. They have a TON of FM transmitter options for the Ipods. Including some that will charge your Ipod, hold it and is a FM Transmitter.

I'm curious if anyone has a potable mp-3 player that also receives satellite radio? Now those things seem pretty useful. I think they're around 300 bucks.

Two of my buddies at work have them...They seem to like them pretty much. I'll have to ask what the storage capacity is for mp3's...Might be something to look into.

I believe that Samsung has some of their MP3's that are equipped with XM radio with a monthly access fee of about $12. However, I don't know anything else about them.

It would be nice to be able to access my favorite right wing talk radio shows from anywhere in the US.

I was thinking of getting my wife an ipod for her birthday.

I was just curious where you got your music. I have heard that you can get them for 99 cents a song. I have also heard that some places offer a certain rate per month and you can download as many songs as you want.

I use iTunes to download songs and rip CDs. I haven't had problems converting existing MP3s into the Apple format for the iPod, so I don't think it would be a problem to download them from another source.

I love my XM for those reasons as much as anything else. I can listen to Qunn and Rose, Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly. I also love it for ESPN radio, PGA Tour coverage, Baseball coverage, Big 10 sports and the dozens of music channels. It's worth the monthly fee for me

I have an RCA I picked up at wal-mart for around 60.00..............

1.5 gigs

I use it for running and biking and it is perfect for what I use it for....

I was thinking Ipod but I just couldnt see what the extra 130.00 was getting me besides a better looking user interface......
