Tiger fans, this week’s tilt vs. Mentor has the potential to be a statement game for our Tigers! I encourage EVERYONE to come out for a great night of football and to bring their cheering ‘A game’! I can personally tell you from my experience standing with the Team on the sidelines that noise level is absolutely a factor in Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. Our players feed off of the crowd’s energy. It is truly consuming! If you are younger, you can cheer; if you are older, you can clap. EVERYONE should participate in his or her own way and show the high school football world what Tiger Football is all about!
Now a word of caution, we should all expect some adversity during the course of the game. Know its coming. Account for it, but NEVER doubt your Tigers! Our Team WILL uphold the tradition Friday night!

Also, support the Team prior to game time! Help line the Walk of Pride at 5:15 PM Friday for Tiger Walk!
GO TIGERS! MASH MENTOR! :trophy:

This is a VERY WINNABLE game. We've beaten better teams than this before, and there is nothing that says we can't do it again.
Each and every player has something that Mentor will never have - the heart of a Tiger. Play hard, hit harder, and send the Cards on a long ride home.

Very Winnable game !! Everyone will need to do their part !!
Those that play, need to do it mistake free and execute 100%.
Those that coach need to put our kids in the best possible position for each circumstance.
Those that cheer need to BE LOUD and let the opposition know that they are in OUR HOUSE !!

Raised upon Tiger lore, many think that there was a time when all the Tigers had to do was show up to win. Taint so.
While we all know about the legendary teams...1940...1959...1970, etc...the truth is that almost every Massillon eleven has come to a point in its season when everything was on the line, when the Orange and Black backs were to the wall.
And often time it wasnt one of the name players that made the play(s) that won the game. So EVERY player on the team has to be ready...prepared...willing...determined...to do whatever is necessary to lead his team mates to victory.
If you are a player, Tiger Fate may point its finger at YOU....a Chosen One.
A Gene Biddle.
You never heard of Gene Biddle? Well, without him, Massillon doesnt win the greatest comeback in Massillon-McKinley history. Gene was the backup to John Muhlbach, an All Ohio center who later starred on Ohio States 1968 National Title team. Obviously, Gene didnt play much, but he was always prepared...and he was a Chosen One.
Down by two touchdowns late in the third qtr, Massillon lost not only its QB, but also its best player, Muhlbach. Everybody knows that Dave Sheegog in 1964 came in to rally the Tigers to a stunning victory, but it was seldom used Gene Biddle who stepped in to hold the line together.
Other Tiger teams have been in the exact same situation you now face. Your fathers, your grandfathers, your uncles, cousins, and big brothers. And now its your turn...your moment.
Yours!!!
Take it, grab it, shake it like a rag doll. Kick the crap out of it. Dont allow yourself to have one breath left, one ounce of energy, one drop of blood or sweat.

The key to this game will be turn-overs and field position. We can't give Mentor the ball on the five yard like like we did Solon and we have to score touchdowns whenever we are in the red-zone. If we can get a TD on special teams or via the D, we could be in good shape. Our offense must score. It is very demoralizing for the defense to continually hold a team only to know that the offense won't be given the chance to move the ball and score. We definetely need a differant game plan than last year, both offense and defense. This is a must-win game and I expect Stacy to open things up. Hopefully, he learned his lesson from last year against Whitmer.

O.K. -- I'm ready to make some noise. http://www.fawcettsociety.org.uk/Images/make_noise(1).gif
Let's see if we can get a decent TIG-ERS going. I watched the band and cheerleaders doing this during pre-game last week. The band was doing TIG to one side of the field and the cheerleaders were doing it the opposite way. Got to get this together. Nobody knows if they are a TIG or an ERS anymore. It only works if one side is TIG and the other ERS. We need to get some coordination here and GET IT GOING!!!
Also, every year we talk about the big GO THUMB, but it never shows up.
Can't we locate it or maybe someone who can do woodworking make one??
That would really stir things up if we could get that.
That's all....I am for now making myself a
