We went to the shotgun formation with Torrence and Turner beside Willoughby with Massey and Jackson split out wide. It would give Chris, who is not the most mobile qb as we all know, a little more time to read the defense, plus it would add some question as to who is getting the ball along with creating some natural running lanes by having the field spread out. Sounds good to me. Any thoughts from anybody else?

I think if the coaches had to do it all over again they would have installed a different offense. Not 2nd guessing, as I admit I also thought we could have been a dominant smashmouth team ala 91, deep set I w/ a lead fullback etc. We just had it wrong is all I can say. Spilt milk. We definitely have to change things up and I think we will, but how much we can do in mid-season may be limited.

This game will look a lot like Solon in that it will be a battle of the D's.

It ain't happening. This game will be played close to the vest, very similar to last years McK game. Only one problem, Mentor has a much better offense than McK did last year.

And the other problem is it is too early to hope an Alberta Clipper rolls through.

We play like we did in that game, 3 & out and ask the D to hold, it aint gonna cut it. And I dont agree Stacy & staff will play it like that. More like the Hamilton game - w/ the season on the line. We shall see.

Before the season I suggested that we have a Wishbone offense.

Talent doesnt = wins. Just look at Justin Zwick. He has a cannon for and arm and has a qb's body and build. But I would take little Bobby Huth as my qb because he has something Jz did not a gift to read a defense and the ability to motivate other players. So having the most talent in the state means anything if the players dont gell and if others cant lead.
