TP up to his old tricks. He fires off a couple scuds a couple Sundays ago, then gets out his anti-Massillon remarks in today's Rep write up.

That little fidget ignores reporting about the game to focus on "the first time Stacy was jeered in 3 years".

Then he tries to bait Coach into talking about fans booing. Fortunately, Coach Stacy too cool and experienced for thr trap.

2) Fair and accurate. Cover the wins and losses, stats, upcoming opponents, etc. He forgets that in his quest for dirt, he's talking about high school kids. His columns consist of a heavy dose "word is" or "don't be surprised if." He's been wrong several times by reporting rumors and speculation.

Do you think he would get much attention at all if people couldn't read his column for free online? Would you pay for that? I sure wouldn't.

I agree with you on Beat Mentor. However, TP is not writing Op-Ed pieces. He is suppossed to be "reporting" sports. His articles arent a matter of agreeing or disagreeing when he reports "false" as being "true". Thats what gets everybody fired-up on here. He does not have the right nor is he protected by the First Amendment to report false stories, which he does.

I think there was a thread on Yappi about Porter a while back, but really, I don't see why people bother calling attention to him. I'm sure that's what he WANTS everyone to do, thinking that it will get him more readers of his column.

I just think he writes as though he has a big chip on his shoulder, and that he should be more unbiased with his writing.
