You've got that right. I'd LOVE to see him get some carries!

Kid has been studying film, I watched him recognize about 3 plays off the bat and make the play because he knew exactly what was coming.

This kid is for real.

He should be on offense more, but I really have to admire what he does on special teams and defense. Might be the most unsung hero on this squad to this point.

He MUST get the ball on offense. It is a travesty for him not to be used as an offensive weapon! Slider, out!!!

that interception turner had last night reminded me of when crable was here. jumping up to pick it off like ripping a rebound down off the board in basketball!

and i agree that i'd also like to see him in the backfield. i have no doubt in my mind that he's the best running back on the team.

Could you imagine Torrnence and Turner in the backfield? WHY NOT?????? They both can run, block and catch.

There was no way the receiver was going to out-jump Turner for that ball. He has really done a great job on defense.

That is who should be back there or at least the 2 that should be rotating from the TB position and put KJ at FB since he doesnt have that first burst of speed but has good speed after about 5 yds or so.

I've this said this since day one! Why Turner is not back there is inexcusable. It almost meets the "deriliction of duty" standards.

that's an interesting thought there, but i don't think herring would make an ideal fullback in my opinion. you need to hit holes with the pads low like a runaway freight train as a fb and he always does that stutter-step jive eveytime he gets up in there, which i think is where that lack of first-burst speed you mention comes from.

My point is he blocks better then runs at least at TB, that is why I would like to see him at FB and put Yoder out at TE for some extra muscle on the OL. Your right about that stutter-step, that is what usually kills him when the DL or LB are keying on him.

During the last Longfellow - Lorin Andrews 8th grade game just before the schools closed 3 years ago..............Justin was the king at tailback.....Great vision and incredible speed...........

Then the following year while he played Freshmen they played him more at wide receiver / safety because he grew a lot taller.

Personally I like him at tailback at least part of the time .....

But some coaches don't like tall running backs because they don't run low enough to the ground and they take a lot of shots on the knees. Anyone remembering Christian Morgan back in 1996 can understand what I am talking about.

I dont want to get another "infraction" if I bring up how JT has this amazing burst of speed but yet he isnt on the TB rotation list with Devoe. :wtf:

Sometimes it takes an infraction or two to get the message across.

How crazy WHO went? The usual flamers from other schools or Massillon fans? We were just as excited about our backfield regardless of DT. Though I thought he would be a big boost on defense, we see how thats turned out.

We don't need DT on defense, UNLESS you moved Rose to the OL !

I wouldn't mind Rose and Yoder up front.

It'll never happen. But, I agree with you it should. Stacy will not play the best O-Lineman on the line. Go figure!

??? Christian was definitely taller and played tb, fairly well too. But JT has better moves and vision. More like a Willie Spencer if you want to compare "tall" runners. Poetry in motion. Just look at his kick returns.

Turner is 100% better, stronger, tougher than Morgan. In fact, Morgan wasn't even the best TB on that team.

We dont need DT on defense huh? I agree the defense is "good". Last week was good - vs a D5 power w/out their best player. 10 points to Solon is good. But 0 points, like Mentor gave up, is even better, and thats who we need to compete w/. St. X doesnt give 14 or 20 to Normandy, period. Especially w/ an offense that struggles in the teens. Can we count on more than 14 points vs Mentor or Iggy? I dont know. I think we need to go ALL OUT to hold them to 14-17, and that is a tall order.

One thing for sure, we will find out this week & next what our D is made of against real D1 offenses.

Banks,

I won't argue with this at this time, but where would you place them (Rose and Yoder on the oline). Have seen this comment often over the last month or two - but keep wondering where - guard, tackle, end! I don't believe either have played oline for quite some time - I think many of us (those of us that really don't know what the heck is going on - me included) seem to think that oline is so easy to learn and play. The oline continues to get bashed, this is getting a bit old - and BTW I don't have a "dog in this fight" in case you are wondering.

If Yoder and Rose can line up and just go forward, then that would be better than what we have now.

Your probably correct, so let's all just hope that this past week were only glimpses of how far the line will progress and gel by week 10 !!
