Steubenville is reportedly very solid at all levels. Go Tiger JV's, learn from your mistakes and beat Mentor!

Don't be too down on the Freshmen.........
The regular quarterback didn't play the first 3 or 4 series due to coaching decision but he'll be a good one
2 key members on defense were banged up and not running well.......#36 is the defensive captain / linebacker that can fly from sideline to sideline and he only played at 1/4 speed.
Go Freshmen!

How did we go from three junior high teams to 50 total players with 8 going both ways? We don't seem to have a lot of freshman players at all and that's not good for the future. The whole key is to have participation.

my freshman year we were down to like 33 by the end of the year but we whooped everyone but ed's... numbers are very important but we have more now than we did my freshman year and were losing more aswell?

There are actually 54 on the roster. They will bounce back.

I always felt the consolation of Longfellow and Lorin Andrews to one school and team would hurt Massillon Football number wize. Thats why the are now and will continue to count on transfers. I think they need tougher rules on transfers. Now if we make the post season and go state I MIGHT change my mind.

When you have 44 starters at the freshman level, ( 2 JR HIGHS), then consolidate to one school, I'm sure someone that started before the consolidation, then became 2nd string, would be discouraged.
Now that all of the kids have "cycled through", we don't see this. However, I would like to see a '2 team' middle school, just to develope more talent. Sure, they won't be as competitive , but they would build more talent at the high school level. Especially since some kids are 'late developers'.
Something needs to be done at the lower levels to raise the numbers.

Dawgh8r, do you mean 2 teams? There are 2 teams at each grade level at the middle school. They do not play against each other, but in the last game of the season, they all play together as one team. Unless, the new principal and new coaching staff has changed that part of it this year.
