Let's see what you're made of and where your football knowledge really is - what's your prediction for the rest of the year?

Tigers finish 7-3 and squeak into playoffs with a Week 10 victory over McK.

I would never predict the Tigers to lose and I would sit here and tell you there is no doubt they are going to win the next 7 games and roll deep into the playoffs, but I think this is the first time in 25 years I look down on the sidelines and see no emotion, none of the players taking a leadership role and getting the others fired up or much of anything. It is only going into week 4 and that isnt a good sign at all, these things happen in week 8 or 9 after a 4 or 5 win season. I just feel there is too much going on in practice and off the field for this team to turn it around, the fact of the matter is they HAVE to win the next 3 games or it is going to be a 10 game season. The only game that matters at this point is the next one against Ursuline, the coaches need to start telling them that every game is a playoff game from now on. The next 3 teams have 8 wins combined right now and the last 4 have 2 wins so that tells you where the season is going to be won or lost.

Usually one of the leaders on any football team is the starting QB, and the coaches haven't even been able to select that position yet, and we are in week 4.
Maybe they should start there.

First of all, I can't tell you how very disappointed I am in this team. I had such great hopes for it, just as I did last season, but maybe even more so. But when the coach started talking about the kids not hitting the weight room during this summer; when we name about a dozen players as "position captains" which tells me that we have NO leaders on this team, when I didn't even feel good after the season's first victory; and when I saw the kids' reaction (throwing helmets after their loss and their yelling at each other), it makes me realize that there is one big common denominator here. Three years ago when we had an astounding year, you know what, we also had discipline on that team. It is obvious that there is no discipline, leadership, or Tiger spirit on this team. With the talent that is on this team, there is no reason for the way that they are playing. I don't know if it happened or not, but after Friday night's game there should have been a big meeting Saturday morning and gotten a lot of these issues ironed out---there is a lot of soul searching that should be going on right now WITH THE COACHES AND THE PLAYERS. The Tiger fans and community do not deserve what is going on right now.

Unbelievable.

This is Massillon, Ohio, in case you forgot where you were.

We win football games from more than coaching and player profiles.

We win football games from community spirit and mind over matter.

7000 people staring at a football in the air will believe it into the receiver's hands, and keep it there.
7000 people staring a a football will carry it through the goal posts.

7000 people believing an opponent's line will be broken will watch it disintegrate!

Shawn stepping just inside a pylon and Bobby hitting on 3d and 30 happened because Massillon people believe!

It's very sad that anyone would predict that we will lose any game, ever.

We are finding out this week who the born and raised Massillon fans are.

Some of you don't and never will get it.

This season: 8-2!

Hate to kill this idea but I think this is one of the reasons the Tigers are looking at 2 losses already, because these kids read press clippings and heard all off season they were predicted to play St X for the Title.
I bet there hasnt been 10 games in the last 20 years at PBTS where the fans have willed the team to a victory, dont get me wrong I wish that was not the case because there isnt a school in NE Ohio that plays in front of more fans but there just isnt that home field advantage anymore like there used to be. There isnt a team in Ohio that comes into PBTS intimidated anymore, just because you have Massillon on the front of the jersey doesnt mean the opponent is going to give up and the kids need to realize that, if they want to get that first playoff title they have to go out and take it because there isnt a team that is just going to give it to them. I would have hoped the kids back from last year would have learned that hard lesson against Tol Whitmer but sadly so far that hasnt been the case.
I think we all will be able to tell in the first 12 min tomorrow night if this team has any heart and if each and everyone of them is willing to give everything they have on that field for the next 8 weeks, so this season can continue farther then 10 games. I would hope the fans do the same, usually the best fans are the ones at the away games and at big games like St Ig and Mck or playoff games, well every game from here on out is a playoff game so make some damn noise tomorrow night, if you want to stay seated all night or get up with 6 min left to beat the traffic do us all a favor and stay home.:furious:
BEAT URSULINE!!!!

To answer your question honestly, I think right now 3-7 looks to be about right. Lets see what happens tomorrow and it could change. I am not being negative, I am just answering the question with my opinion and I hope that I am wrong. I would love to eat a big plate of crow on this one.

Tiger#22 and Woody Hayes,

I guess I explained myself badly.

Maybe you have to be an old timer to understand it the way I put it.

Let me try again.

If we want this team to believe in themselves as being 125% of what they are, then we have to believe in them.
That's what makes Massillon what it is.

We are the little giant that has to.

Remember the ant and the rubber tree plant?

Never mind.
I am old and you are young and you know everything and nothing at the same time.

All I know is if there were 7000 of me in the stands, we would win out this year.
Too bad there's 100 of me and 6900 of you.

In all fairness, I think they are basing their thoughts on the performances they have witnessed and the increasingly tough schedule ahead. Can it be done. Your damn right it can be done. But, its going to take a TEAM effort from here on out.

I'm sorry but i don't agree with everyone saying it's the KIDS... We do have talent and alot of it SOME OF IT IS ON THE SIDE LINES !!!!! The ones that have went to every 2 a day and every film and everything never late never threw a helmet or yelled at a coach and STILL HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE FIELD. But they do not quit... they are part of the team and have hart and don't need to be put in the same " team" as the ones that do get away with yelling and throwing 2 year old fits. The kids who have been there for years and have the hart with out getting the chance to play and still for a few they are still true tiger fans and have stood on the side game after game and seeing that the ones who don't do as they are told or yell or throw things can get away with it but they just stand there. please don't put all the kids in the blame game . Maybe they should be the ones who should start and the starters who act up should stand on the sidelines. So we may lose a few games but the love of being a tiger football player would show in the love of the game and the pride they have to wear that uniform. So please don't put all the kids down. some should get credit. Thank you
