The last thing that our team needs is bashing of the coaches and players. Each and every coach works as hard as they possibly can to prepare our team for each game. How do expect high school athletes to stay positive and try to turn their season around if all everyone does is critize them. remember this that 1005 of the players and coaches want to win as bad as you want us to win. they try. Right now luck is not going or way. Are there things that need ot be corrected sure but give it time. I guarntee you that you will see an explosive Massillon team this Friday.

Everyone needs to grow up and move on, we can not change the past and dwell on the losses we must look forward and if the communitty and SO CALLED FANS can't forget about the losses and move on how do expect our players to.

Our fans need to get loud at ball games, everyrtime our opponent has the ball you should be yelling and screaming, especially on third and fourth down but instead we all sit and watch, you think the players don't care about that , just by being loud will help to motivate these players. They need your support more than ever. Please don't jump ship just because the season did not start as many have projected including theses players and coaches. There is still alot of football to be played and I promise you that you will be suprised.

The finger pointing at players and coaches has to stop. Everyone needs to grow up and realize that these are high school athletes (HIGH SCHOOL not college or pro).

Please grow up and act like adults and support these kids even when times are rough, a win this week and we are back on track.

I don't think there has been much criticism of players at all. Coaches on the other hand, yes. But, they are big boys who get paid to run a disciplined team and win games.

I completely agree. I don't think much has been said about the players. There do seem to be a few attitude problems, but that is to be expected of kids from time to time. It is up to the coaches to help keep the attitudes in check or get rid of them.

Each and every coach works as hard as they possibly can to prepare our team for each game.
In the real world you can work as hard as anyone else. If you don't get results, you don't keep your job.

I think the attitude problems are a result of the lack of discpline instilled by the coaches.

Brian I appreciate what you are trying to do with this post and I commend you for it. However, if we are depending on luck to turn this thing around I would say that anything you are reading on here is probably justified at this point.

Win.. Lose or anything in between, I am still and will always be a Tigers fan and love them. But, you have to really look at the rest of our season, and where as I am trying to be positive, look at our remaining opponents {Iggy, Mentor} and the fact of the matter is, if we play as we have been, we will lose. But, I am trying to stay positive... but its becoming seemingly hard to do so.

Could you please change either the color of your font or the font size? This is a great message but hard as heck to read. I'm getting old and had to hold the computer half a mile from my eyes to see this.

Thank you.
Orange may be real nice for Tiger fan to use, but it's next to impossible to see.

Winning cures everything. I thought a loss to Normandy would certainly ruin the season. Maybe I overreacted. If we beat Ursuline, hopefully decisively, we'll be 2-2 w/ some hope left. We lose to Ursuline it truly is over. And that is NOT an overreaction. Coaches - players - fans - TIGERS - this is your last shot! Play it like the last game of your lives. We know you have it in you!

GO TIGERS!!! Gosh dammit!

If you are a Tiger Fan you dont just give up because of a few losses in a single season. I can understand if some of the people on these forums have children playing football, or in the band or cheerleading, but my God people, why so serious! Let these high school students enjoy their time, go and support them and have a little fun yourself, its not the end of the world!

:thanx:

Go Tigers! Beat Ursuline!

That's great but I wouldn't call players fighting with each other on the sidelines fun, would you?

So what then if Massillon doesnt make it to the playoffs? Everyone just gives up and stops going to the games??? Don't forget what being a Massillon Tiger fan is really about, Massillon is what it is today because of the fans. No matter how bad things get or look, you dont give up! If you have orange and black running through your veins, then you are there, win or lose. "Tiger Pride" is what makes Massillon different from all others. I agree that changes should be made in some areas including the band, However, I'm a Massillon Fan til I die! I will always show support for them! And you should too!

O.K. -- here is my sort of pep talk.

Time to stop wallowing in all of this.

There has been so much stuff out there the last few days about what’s going on with our team and how to fix all that has been happening. I’ve heard about o-line, play calling, disgruntled this and that.

I really think it comes down to three things…. unity, respect and pride.

1. The team has to be unified among themselves to make anything work -- just like life.

2. The team has to have respect for their coaches and each other -- just like life.

3. The coaches have to be unified and respect their own authority and carry through with discipline for the team.

4. The fans need unity now more than ever to help pull this season back around.

5. The team and coaches need to respect the tradition that has gone on before them and attempt in all things to carry it on.

6. Pride in your performance, pride in the community and pride in the tradition.

This is not just an extra curricular activity -- it is THE extra curricular activity. It is not just a high school game, but permeates throughout the community. It is what defines Massillon.

We are Massillon…we must be unified….we must have respect for the game, other teams, our coaches and each other. We must have pride in our actions and one another.

Unity -- U n I -- together.

I think all that any of us wants is that the team and coaches do their absolute best and put it all out there on the field -- together. If we win GREAT...if we take our lumps, so be it. We won or lost as a “team”.

No more finger pointing, no more excuses….team, coaches, fans….have to be in this together. Otherwise, nothing will work.

Now get out there and BEAT URSULINE!!

If Stacy takes control, turns this around and makes the playoffs he could go down as one of the greatest coaches of all-time at Massillon. It will take a lot of work with Friday being the first playoff game. I certainly hope it gets done.

Much has been said about heart, unity, play calling, o-line, blah, blah. At the end of the day we are TIGERS and need to remain that way. As Monte said earlier it doesn't matter if you a transfer or not. You are Tiger and that is all that needs to be said.

Our son would be considered a transfer with one exception. He never entered his district's school. He was a Tiger from kindergarten all the way through his senior year.

Let's get pass the past and move forward to Friday night.

One thing we heard was a very old lady bashing the coach and the team it was rude and we told her. The mosty distrubing incident was when we saw a player arguing with the coach and also when a another member of the team came up to him to try and settle him down he pushed his team mate.

Later he did make up to the other player and it appeared they were cool.

The team should be like family and do disagree, but don't get mad and stay that way.

I know that Coach Stacy, the coaches and the team can pulls themselves together.

I love Massillon and we need to respect the coaches, players and each other.

Yes the coaches can take the abuse. But the players that read this negativity can lose faith in the coaches, which will breed loss of confidence in ability to win. All the comments on what should or should not be done by coaches do not belong here. This forum is too widely read for that. Many say that the players need to have a thicker skin, but you have to remember that these are highly impressionable young teen men. Teen being the optimal word here. If all of you would take the time to reflect back on when you were that age you might remember that you also needed guidance in your life at that time. Have a little compassion and understanding and guidance for these kids. Pushing confusion in their faces will only confuse them.

Striker, you make a very good point that I imagine not many have thought about as far as negative remarks about the coaches affecting the player's attitudes and mindset. I think we should all take heed of this wise advice :tig:

Thx Kam. Focus...this is what we need focus from us as fans and them as players and coaches. And that focus must be to win...one game at a time...but to commit to winning. Our support will help give them the strength to focus on winning and the belief that we are behind them so much that they can't bear to lose anymore!
