Lets see how many people would like to see a former Massillon great return and talk to these boys before their next game.

Maybe that would light a fire under them?

I vote Mr. Spielman.

Sad thing is there are more then a few former tigers around town that would love to have a few choice words with the players......believe me I am one of them.

I sincerely don't think a pep talk from an outsider would make one bit of a difference. Pep talks; direction, discipline and leadership begin with the head coach and ends with the players on the field.

I don't get what Speilman's deal is what about Zwick or Crable.

I think Crable has enough problems of his own right now.

God what a strange year. Mck is without a win, we have only one win, Jackson is in the tank, and the team up north is worthless (not that that bothers me).

Why don't we do what Ohio State does? Name an honorary captain before each game and have that person speak to the team before the Tigers take the field. The honorary captain is a former Massillon Tiger football player -- does not necessarily have to be a former Massillon captain.

Also, when Jim Tressel took over the Ohio State program, he noticed that some of the players did not have an understanding or respect of the traditions of Ohio State. Coach Tressel wrote a letter to various former OSU players and asked them to write a letter back to the team letting them know what "being a Buckeye" meant to them in their lives. Tressel then posted the letters on the bulletin board in the locker room.

Sounds like we should implement these two things at Massillon.

Like most of you, I grew up in the Tiger tradition, and it sickens me to think the current crop of Tigers don't understand what a privilege it is to be part of the Massillon Tiger football program.

Its not a priviledge, its an honor to wear that uniform. Period. They need to understand that.

KennyM and everyone else; Call Tom Stacy and run the idea by him. He might say yes. We need to try something, anything, but its not time to panic or get desperate yet.

Dont Give Up The Ship. We are Massillon

By the way my vote is for Travis or Falando.

It is absolutely an honor to wear the Tiger uniform. I hope that is not lost on this younger generation.

There are too many captains as it is. Another one of the problems.

I think having someone from the past Tigers team come and talk to the team would be a good idea. I am a big Lady Vols basketball fan and they had some the past championship teams come and talk to the team last year. It was a motivation for last years team, which won the national championship. Maybe the Tigers should bring some of the team members from past championship teams to motivate this years team.

This may not be in the right forum, but the coach needs to decide on which QB he wants to start and stop rotating QB's.

If a football player needs any outside source to get "Fired Up" perhaps it is time to consider another activity. This includes other players, coaches and/or former players. If the "Fire" doesn't come from within it will NEVER be there. No amount of "fire and brimstone" will bring it out. People often mistake lack of technique for lack of effort or heart. Whenever you are facing an opponent whose goal is to knock you down that should provide enough initiative to do the best you can. If you have the skill. speed, strength and technique you will prevail. GO TIGERS BEAT Ursuline!!!
