Looking at the picture of this article makes me realize CarlE that you and the others was telling me the truth. I must admit it was best for the Jr Highs to get what they got and retain some dignity. I cant believe this is what they could have become. Maybe I should not be so stubborn in the future. This is living proof of what happens if something isnt taken care of.

It's sad to see the building in this condition. My father in law was principal there in the 60's and 70's.

Oh, I don't know. It looks pretty much the same as it did in the late 30s and early 40s.

Just kidding of course. Back in those days we had MR. kurtz (not capitalized) as principal. He was the second coming of Hitler. He let some mean junior police run the school and did they ever. It wasn't a great situation.

Washington High was heaven compared to that place

I'm suprised that nobody bid on it. I thought somebody would have made it into a big mansion style house.

Unless you have somewhere CHEAP to dispose of the waste , or line someone's pocket with some dough, these are very costly aquisitions.

Why do you think that Harvey school was sold for nothing ??
