He is a very impressive young man.

Nice comments on Shawn! I was wondering, is Shawn the 1st ex-Tiger to be elected captain of a Division I team since Chris Spielman? Any others?

Shawn Crable will lead Michigan to the school's first Big Ten title since 2004! He is a class act on and off the field.

I agree. I was expecting to read an article about Crable, not a few sentences.

I am proud that Shawn has become a excellant football player and person. This is a big year for him at UM and the expectations are very high and he knows he has to continue to work extremely hard to accomplish his NFL dreams.

BTW--- the article was misleading!!

I can always count on you, CarlE. Hey, if you don't like it, don't read my posts or threads about Michigan.

Sorry I freaking HATE Michigan. And the article wasn't even about Shawn Crable. Well, except for two lines.

So, Carl, ignore the rest, and appreciate that one of OUR OWN is a captain for a big time program, regardless of who it is.

warren1st,

Let CarlE go. He's entitled to his rights and I respect them and him for such. Take it from me. I caught a lot of heat from Massillon fans when I said that the 2002 Warren Harding High School Raiders were better than the Tigers based on their two wins over them in 2002. I didn't make them happy but you know what...I was OK with that. I'm not going to fire back negatively or deride someone or a group of people because of what they think or feel about my synopsis on things.

You can't make anyone happy all the time and for a guy like me, I'm OK with that.

GO BLUE!

Good! You be buddies with a guy who hates your team. Don't you believe I'm entitled to my rights or opinions, too, or is this site strictly a one way street??

warren1st,

You too are entitled to your opinions and I respect yours the same way as I do others.

In my opinion, any Massillon fan should be happy when something like this happens to one of our own, no matter who they play for. Congrats Shawn and good luck this season. I hope it is a great one for you and is injury free!!

I agree congrats to Shawn. He's a Massillon product and at least should be recognized for that.

Thanks Benchboss and Ms V! At least some fans can see the bigger picture. He's one of our own. We should all be proud he is doing well for himself.

I really wish Shawn would have went to Ohio State.
Why would someone as nice as him want to go to a school like Michigan?
I wish hime the best, and i hope he has a great career in the N.F.L.

Wouldnt it be nice if Pittsburgh drafted Shawn!

I'm sure he wouldn't care who drafted him, so long as he got drafted.

I believe some of you have been misled and become confused.

The natural order is a Massillon Tiger becomes Ohio State Buckeye evolving into a Cleveland Brown!!

RAPTOR!

Shawn Crable as a PITTSBURGH STEELERS player would greatly do wonders for my Pittsburgh heart!!!!

I can see it right now......

Bill Hillgrove: Vick is scrambling and he goes down hard! And that is Shawn Crable out of the University of Michigan recording the sack and Heinz Field is going crazy!

Tunch Ilkin: I love this guy! He has a knack for working hard in the weight room and it carries over to the field!

But Crable has some head-hunting to do this year and LEAD the way for the Michigan Wolverines to the Big Ten title!

GO BLUE!

It's called loyalty!!! UM pursued Shawn when he was a raw Soph. and OSU waited real late after he had already made his mind up. Sometimes the early bird gets the worm.

I seem to recall Shawn waiting till the very last second to make up his mind, Shawn was back and forth between the two schools. One week he was leaning towards Ohio State, the other week he was leaning towards Michigan.
From what i remember he showed up in the coaches office the morning of the deadline with his decision to go to Michigan.

Then obviously, it was what HE decided was best for him. And, remember, he's not just learning about football there. He's also getting many invaluable life experiences.

Go SHAWN!

That would be my preferred order. And it happened in the "old days" quite often. But it would be rare in today's environment, for several reasons.

Not if you were close to him--we talked all the time about the decision and our community, Massillon faithful, and some family was leaning on him to attend OSU and Shawn is a loyal kid and thought about it for those reasons alone. I knew months before hand what school he wanted to sign with but played it out for the media.

In a year it will be for nothing because we will be talking about what team we would like to draft him and in what round---hoping for 1st!!!
