It pleases me to inform the entire MassillonProud.com family and everyone else outside who has stood behind me these last several years of my greatest news: I am a writer for The Suburbanite newspaper!!!!!!!!!!!
This has been a long time coming for me given my experiences the last three years (which included a brief stint with SteelersFever.com) but it has meant a lot going through high water and sharks in the water to get this position and I am still so ecstatic about it today!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be concentrating on Lake High School football as part of my assignment! I want to thank the entire MassillonProud.com family and the city of Massillon for welcoming me with open arms and standing behind me! It pleased me during my interview to speak of the reputation that Massillon possesses in media relations and now it has led me to my ultimate goal: being a writer for a paper!!!!!!!!
Also to be thanked are the people outside of MassillonProud.com and Massillon who also stood behind me when I went through high water to get to where I wanted to be. Believe me, I am very grateful to be flying high on this great day!
I want to send this out to everyone who stood behind me (MassillonProud.com and the city of Massillon), my family, my friends, and everyone else outside of Massillon (in reference to fans of other schools who knows me for all their support: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWDmau1Vbxs I will always love each and every one of you unconditionally!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I will be at the Perry Panthers-Massillon Tigers scrimmage to share my good news (I hope I see Kamd50 there). I'll be in my dark blue three-piece and doing what I do best: having a good time!

Striker300,
I do wish Canton McKinley all the best for a productive season. I just wasn't the right person for them and I have no problem with that. No hard feelings and nothing personal but I feel blessed to be doing what I finally always wanted to do: be a writer for a newspaper and I couldn't have asked for a better situation. I am going to give it everything I have!
But I must give them some credit as I don't believe in leaving anyone in the desert as I am not that kind of individual and I'm sure you will understand.

Absolutely Keno. I had just been reading some of the posts about it on McK.com and I hope that you will get more and better support from Lake fans. I too wish the Pups well. Good Luck on new job. I, being transplanted to FL, hope all Stark Co. teams do well. This spreads the word about Stark Co. football. But Massillon is my love. Go Tigers!

Striker300,
I have been around Lake fans for the last two years and their fans are truly a class act. You never see them degrading other fans or teams and I can attest to that. It is a challenge I am looking forward to and getting a chance to open up to another community!

I really like Lake. A very good school with hard-working athletes. They should have a very good team this year.

Gosh, sure mixed emotions here. First congrats my friend. You have worked your behind off, kept your nose to the grindstone and MOST importantly, you NEVER took your eye off the prize. For that tenaciousness, you are now rewarded. I sure wish you the very best, and I'll be surfing online to find some of your writings. You deserve this opportunity and we at MP.com know you will take great advantage of it.
Having said all that, I know I speak for others when I say it feels like we are almost losing a son, although I'm not Muslim!! LOL
Congrats, buddy. I'd love to talk to you live about this. Leave your cell phone number on IM.

Keno -- That’s….amazing, astounding, awesome, extraordinary, exceptional, fabulous, fantastic, far out, incredible, marvelous, phenomenal, remarkable, spectacular, stupendous, superior, the utmost….shall I go on????
Congratulations to you Keno….. but remember, you’re still an honorary Tiger. (But, that Steelers and Wolverines thing -- really has to go.)http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Laughing/lol-030.gif

Xtiger,
That Steelers tie......you won't see that (I'll get back to you on that).
TigerLily,
Those are pretty nice adjectives!
You know...I didn't know what to expect the first time I came into this proud city of 35,000. But in a span of several years...I have been blessed to come across a lot of people from this city (interesting I say that...I think seven Tigers graduated from Mount Union to two from the archrival school...I was one of the two, LOL).
Make no mistake about it...Massillon has always given me memories that I will always cherish. The best in media relations, the finest police department in all of Stark County, the best street in Lincoln Way East...you name it. And the families that make Massillon what it is. The interviews with the coaches and players. Not only am I thankful for Massillon and the people I have come across but I am thankful to have written for Yappi.com and a brief stint with SteelersFever.com and thankful for all the people inside and outside Massillon who remained with me during my battles.
I have a Massillon pressguide at home and there is a quote that stands out to me greatly when I look at it: "You may win. You may lose. But you will never be defeated." That is something meaningful to me everytime I look at it.
I will be in Massillon August 24th. If you want to know more, shoot me a PM.

Hey Keno, thanks for the song; very kind of you:angel:
I wanted to reciprocate, but also wanted to share this with anyone that may ever feel the need to listen to something truely inspirational.
All 3 of these are inspiring, but listen to the third one first, "STILL I RISE".
It is incredible and her voice will blow you away!
Have a good day everyone!

Not leaving us per se, but I imagine now that he has responsibilities he won't have the access to MP.com that he used to have. It IS a good question, though. I could be totally off base, or perhaps my emotions of losing Keno just got the best of me.

Actually, I'm wondering if they might give him his own computer with net access so that he can post at times other than when the library is open.
We may hear more from him.
