On hole number 7 Tiger left his putt about 4 feet short and I said "hit the ball Alice"...and apparently it was louder than I intended b/c the gallery looked at me and Tiger glance over at the area too with an angry look.

Oh well. feelings mutual. hope you choke tomorrow Alice. Go Rory :)

Thats true there is no reason to be a fan of Tiger Woods...:wall:

Rory has no shot tomorrow, the only way Tiger loses is if Tiger beats himself.

Tiger by 3 and it wont be that close.

A little bit of both. Im a 2 cap who has golfed for 15 years (25y/o)... and i hate Tiger. And I hate his fans more so than him.

Tiger isn't the same golfer anymore so I don't care that he's won 5 times at Firestone.

Who has the best GIR so far this weekend? If he putts well he will win by 5, if he putts below his norm he will win by 3.

I like Tigers work ethic and mental toughness. I hate how big of an asshole he is though. By far the worst on the tour except for maybe Ernie Els.
And of course his fans are ignorant on a course. When I was a kid my dad took me to Muirfield and Jack walked by and signed my hat. It'd be a cold day in hell before Tiger did that.

Ohhhhhhhh now it is clear to all of us,,,, someone didnt get his hat signed.

It is people like you that Tiger would walk over and hand a 6 year old a signed glove and you would try and take it from him.

Maybe you can get his pic while he is standing there with the trophy for the
3rd straight year, not bad for someone who "isnt the same golfer anymore". :no1:

First off, I wouldn't want a hat ruined by his signature. Not to mention he wouldn't sign it if it weren't Nike and I only wear PING.

2nd Tiger wouldn't hand a 6 year old anything ... that's the problem. If you don't catch Tiger in the practice round you're SOL.

3rd Tiger isn't the same golfer anymore despite your love blindness for him. I've seen him enough throughout the years and the new swing just doesn't compare.

1st you would take it in a hearbeat and sell it on Ebay

2nd I guess you better get to the practice round then or get his by one of his balls during the tourn. I have seen many instances where he has given signed gloves to people that have been hit by his ball.

3rd The new swing doesnt compare?? How many tournaments did he win last year? How many this year? You really should stick trying to play the game because you obviously have no clue about the professionals that do.

ooh he had 8 wins in 2006 . Dude he won THREE MAJORS in 2000.

He's only CHANGED his swing once and it was in 2003. Butch harmon always worked on his swing if that's what you're referring too? But he didn't change his swing. He's changed his swing ONCE.
There's no bitter pill here. It's just people like you who see Tiger on TV every once in awhile and have no clue how he really is in person yet love him to death still. I'm sure you're like the rest of his fans and didn't even like golf before you heard about him.

Again no clue, the swing change with Haney was in 04' and he had swing changes in 02' with Harmon after his knee surgery, not to mention a major swing change in 98'. So no he has not had only one swing change in his career, wrong again.

UMM it started in 2003 not 2004. Up until then he had the same 2 plane swing. And like i said earlier.. Harmon massaged his mechanics (and yes you're right about his knee surgery) but he still had the same exact two plane swing as always up until 2003. Check his swing from college all the way till 2003-2004 if you don't believe me. "more of a one plane swing".. not at all. I'm looking at it right now and either you're blind or cannot tell the difference. He's had a two plane swing up thru harmon and not "two plane traits" whether he fired harmon in 2003 or 2004 is a moot point. The fact was he played better golf before Haney changed his swing. Go look at clips when he first came out on tour his swing was much shorter and his upper body rotation was very agressive, hence the one plane swing. Then with Harmon he started to have more of a high hands, wide swing that gave him more ball flight, now it is a two plane swing.
The FACT is he is playing better golf now and that is proven with more wins in tournaments and majors with his swing now that is in it's 3rd year as compared with the 8 years previous. Again come back to me when he is into his 8th year with this swing and tell us how he hasnt played better golf.

No his swing was not shorter and he had more hip rotation not upper body. He has more upper body rotation now under Haney not when he first came out. He has not won majors like before and everyone knows that is the true test of golfers. weekend tourneys don't play nearly as hard as majors. I know a few thing about swing mechanics. You obviously dont know enough because if you would do any research at all on his swing you would read where his upper body rotation was very agressive and his swing was shorter when he first got on tour.

I think your confused about comparing someone that won 8 majors in 8 years to 4 majors in the last 3 years with 1 more still to play this year. That would mean he is winning more majors now then he was before so there your wrong again.

Tiger's definitely making the shots. After birdieing 1st,2nd,4th and 6th and Rory birdieing the 1st but bogeying the 4th and 5th i had enough. Surprisingly the pin placements are a lot easier today than yesterday. Justin Rose was putting a nice round together to. Enough golfers must have complained about the pin placements yesterday.

Ps. I still don't and wont like Tiger.

#22- you don't have to do "research" about Tigers swing.. look at his swing from a rear angle and you can see exactly what hes doing AND his swing path. Look at it today and see his shoulder rotation. You also notice in his practice swing he forces himself to follow the same plane. You're seriously going to argue this? You also fail to mention he won 4 majors in a row with his "Harmon Swing".

Carle- I was an asshole way before Timkens hired me. But I've been to two majors this year (Oakmont and Augusta) and watched them at muirfeild, sawgrass, Harbour Town, and Firestone of course. I sure you've seen your fair share given your age but I've also been around it enough to form my own opinions.

Sounds like your hate is motivated by jealousy or something else. Don't give me this BS about what a big A-hole he is. Go to an event and walk around and watch all of them. Some of them are a LOT worse than Tiger. Not that he doesn't show his emotions, he does. I believe that he holds himself to a high standard, and when he doesn't achieve it, it ticks him off... maybe that's why he is now, and will end up being the greatest ever. By the way, Jack said that as well, and oh yeah... my kid has Tiger's autograph from Firestone 4 years ago, (maybe 3).

True, Phil is a great guy, and a great golfer, BUT.....

What is it that you don't like about Tiger???

You seem to have a knowledge of the game, of swing mechanics and history.
So....
What reason could you possibly have?
I know people who don't like a guy, or a team that always wins because they like to root for the underdog. I'm kind of that way too, but there is no way you can watch Tiger and not get the feeling that you are seeing something special. As an average golfer, but a big golf fan, I can say that I have watched for years and with the exception of Jack, there have been few players who were expected to win every time they put on their spikes.

Enjoy it, 25 years from now you'll be able to say...... " I was at Firestone, and at The Open , and Harbourtown etc..., and I watched Tiger play in person". That may mean something to you then.

I hate how he's a big baby. I hate how he's got 10 y/o fans looking up to him at the course and he slams his club down and says "f###!" I hate how he blames the course for being too hard instead of saying I should have kept it in the fairway and made the shots. I hate how his opponents are at a disadvantage because 2000 people are running to the next tee box when they're trying to putt. I hate how hes too arrogant to acknowledge people on and off the course. I hate how he plays by seperate rules on the course (look at firestone last year). I hate how hes a spoiled prima donna and not a humble gentleman like the greats before him.

Those are a few reasons I hate Tiger Woods.

I suppose he's on steroids, too!

I am not a golfer
But Woods has me enjoying watching it on TV

I met him 4 years ago at Glenmor C.C where they stay when they are here for Firestone and I have seen him at least once each year. One time was at Bakers in Canton.

I have seen how people seem to crowd him and anyone would not like that !

I don't ever pick who I think will win. If i had to guess I would have picked Romero since hes been hot lately. Of course I always root for the true Gentleman on the game, Phil Mickelson.
I'll just have to wait till Phil heals to take Tiger off his thrown.

Well, I had first and second on my fantasy team this week. Save the "hit it Alice" comment for your buddies on the Tuesday night league. Saying at a pro event loud enough for him to hear it across the green was plain and simple rude. Do people come to your place of work and yell "add up the numbers right Junior"?

Well thats just cuz you're sweet.
I'll say what I want to my buddies (who also don't like tiger) . Tiger fans telling someone to not say something "inappropriate" at a pro event is laughable at best.
Plus Tuesday night league guys are pretty good. But Monday or Wednesday or Thursday guys.. well thats a different story :)
Also, "adding up numbers" is a bit facetious. I wish it were that easy. I'm fairly confident that you couldn't do my job. After all, then you wouldn't have time for your fantasy league.

Romero ended up at what? T6? Kid has a very bright future. At 25 I know more golf than many ever will. I, unlike most, know golf existed before Mr. Woods. I consider the best players ever Bobby Jones and Byron Nelson. I followed Nicklaus career religiously when I was a kid. I have videos of most every major Arnie and Jack played in. Tiger is a great golfer and he'd be easy to cheer for if he was a good guy.

You have your story wrong. They were actually at Harbour Inn and Tiger was brought his bill and paid with his debit card. As he was leaving, the manager informed Tiger the tip was not included in his tab and he told the bartender his signature on the receipt was worth more than a tip. And before you say I'm wrong.. Again obviously I do,,althought it was Harmon and Haney who both have said Tiger has a one plane swing when he first turned pro but of course you must know more then them too.

So you have had lessons since you were 12 and on some State Team and what has it gotten you compared to me in terms of golf? Nothing, your still running around on local leagues during the week, hell with all of those lessons why arent you at least on the Nationwide Tour??

Because everyone on pga, nationwide and champions can kick my ass. I know an acquaintance on the nationwide that barely hangs there and he takes me to the woodshed when we play. I have a 2 handicap those guys don't have handicaps. I never said I was better than them just that I know my fair share of golf.
BTW I've never heard either say Haney or Harmon comment on Tigers swing in college. I was watching the Ping Classic Tiger won at Stanford and he has heavy hip rotation, hands are high and club is past parallel, and comes down on separate plane from his backswing. So what I'm asking you is how is that one plane and a shorter backswing?

Oh well. feelings mutual. hope you choke tomorrow Alice. Go Rory :)

You act like this on a golf course, and you say Tiger's fans are A-Holes?????
Kind of ironic isn't it???

Sabbatini has fan removed after verbal shot

AKRON With Warner Road in front of him and Firestone Country Club behind, Steve Banky looked around and assessed the situation.

"I guess I've just been dismissed," the Cuyahoga Falls resident said Sunday during the final round of the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.

During his first visit to Firestone in 15 years, Banky - a retired firefighter/paramedic who teaches EMS at Stark State College - was kicked out for asking a question.

As Rory Sabbatini walked from the No. 9 green after taking a double bogey, Banky asked sarcastically, "Rory, do you think Tiger (Woods) is still beatable?"

Sabbatini talked about it afterwards.

"The situation is we're out there to do our job," he said. "Let us do our job. ... Have a little bit of decorum and a little bit of class out there. That's the way it's supposed to be. But I guess a few too many beers were talking."

Banky clearly had not been drinking. He maintained he wasn't trying to cause problems.

Rory isn't my boy. He's the only one who had a chance of beating Tiger.
There a difference of me saying that to my buddies in a gallery and me saying it to Tiger as he walks by me. I'm sure if I did I'd be kicked out too.
Dumb comparison.

Not really. You said it to the point that it was audible enough for Tiger to hear. Now, was it directly addressed to him? No. But to me the comparison is fair if he was able to hear what you said. It's amazing what you see and hear if you go to enough golf tournaments. At the PODS championship here in Tampa this year I heard enough to get about ten people kicked out. Sometimes you just have to have a little class. This isn't The Elms or Lyons Den, and it isn't your middle of the week work league either. We all need to think about that when we're walking around the course.

That last statement was not directed at anyone specifically, it was a general comment to anyone who goes and sees a pro tournament.

The point I was trying to make is that Rory only asked the man to be removed because he couldn't handle the A** whooping he was getting by Tiger, and he lashed out at this guy to get even. I guarantee you that he is more embarassed today then the guy who made the statement.

Tiger could have had you removed if he wanted, but he didn't..... you know why?????
Cuz he don't care about your dumb comments!!! He is there for one reason only.... to win the tournament and he doesn't care who is standing in his way, or what some idiot in the crowd says. Rory needs to crawl back into his hole and shut his mouth. Next time, he won't be so quick to tug on Superman's cape!!!!

He just got a big time beatdown!!!!!!!! And it won't be his last!!!!!

Ask Smitty and LTFT what I did at the barn hole when we played. Hit a laser right over the top of the barn and had a freaking 7 iron to the green!! Ended up with par so don't ask about the rest of the hole. And I LOVE the Lyon's Den.
