Now THIS is the kind of athlete that I want my son to admire and aspire to be like....wonderful story:thumbsup:
Hickerson, who has Alzheimer's, to enter Hall of Fame
The star Cleveland Browns lineman who helped clear a path for Jim Brown is among the 2007 induction class that includes Bruce Matthews, Charlie Sanders, Thurman Thomas and Roger Wehrli.
CANTON, Ohio -- Former Cleveland Browns defensive back Bernie Parrish put it this way: "Jim Brown didn't just happen to get all of those yards."
The legendary running back who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971 had the good fortune to be behind a wall of blockers studded with perennial Pro Bowlers. One was Gene Hickerson, who will be inducted into the Hall today.
But this is a bittersweet day. ...............................................

It is a shame that he probably doesn't really realize what is going on.

His induction was really sad on Saturday night.
I was watching, thinking to myself that I might have to wait decades to see another Cleveland Brown inducted to the Hall of Fame. And after the guy has been eligible for 30 years he finally gets in at a point in his life where he cannot enjoy it. It was just sad and you hope the guy actually knows what is going on.

Are any Browns eligible that are legit candidates? What about Clay Mathews? Does he belong?

It is also sad that the top brass from the Cleveland Browns failed to make an appearance as reported by Todd Porter

WHERE IS BROWNS' BRASS?
NFL owners Bill Bidwell (Arizona), Jerry Jones (Dallas), John York (San Francisco) and Tom Benson (New Orleans) traveled all the way to Canton for the Enshrinee Dinner. The Browns? They sent Diane Downing, vice president of administration.
It is inexcusable for the Browns, located an hour away, not to send more visible faces of the organization, especially with offensive guard Gene Hickerson being enshrined this year.

It's a sad story. Jim Brown was perhaps the best ever to play the game. But he has always recognized Hickerson as a big reason for his performance on the field. I agree the Browns should've had more of a presence (or were they using most of their resources on meeting with Quinn's agent?). Really there wasn't much of a Browns presence anywhere. From the parts of the ceremonies I saw, they were packed with Cowboys and Steelers fans. It appeared as if the cameras were searching for ANYONE wearing Browns gear.

Barely. Doesn't she show up anywhere there's a camera? Hey Keno, she's single and looking for a man.

I'm still trying to figure out what is going on under that costume. Note to Keno: She hates Meatchicken. :hyper:

It looks as if she might be attractive, although it's truly impossible to tell with that garb. The impression I've received (when I hear her talk) is she's a little crazy. I do give her a  for her support of the Browns and Buckeyes.

"Wild" can be a good thing. "Crazy" usually has bad results.
