I was told it was on Harsh, not Hess where the wash out happend. It was behind the new fieldhouse. They were out late last night cleaning it up since it was blocking the road.

The OHSAA frowns on live video webcasts. I don't think the BOE would go for it either.

OHSAA will however sell you the rights to broadcast a game live, for a few thousand bucks per game.

It's cool to see the "roof work" has begun. Not long now...

gotigers1
10-15-2007, 09:44 AM
What they are putting up right now is a net. This is a safety measure for the roofing crew. Once that is in place, then the roof can go up. From what I have heard, is they are going to start on the west side of the roof, since that is were all the weather comes in from.

A lot of "news" this year with the new facilities, new superintendent (although I really liked Blosser), new head coach, lots of other news...maybe a new State Championship? You just never know.

Can anyone tell me---is it true that the Davids have pulled their money from this project and that is why nothing further has been done as far as the end zone work is concerned??? What has happened about the new visiting teams' locker room, etc.? I was told that all this School Board dissension, the nepotism, superintendents' problems, etc., has caused the Davids to pull their money from the project. If this is indeed true, the School Board needs to do what is right---and that is, to have some of them resign so that we can get all this mess straightened out. Our kids are going to be the ones who will suffer through all of this. Isn't it interesting that Northwest can replace a superintendent in less than a week's time and we are still "looking." What is going on in Massillon----unfortunately, I am not hearing much good or positive. We need fresh blood on that School Board. Does anyone else have any ideas, comments . . . I sure would like to feel better about all that is going on than I do now.

No, that is not true. The David Foundation has not pulled it's funding of DREAM. However, I think Jeff David is rightly concerned about the current leadership of the Massillon City Schools and wants some reassurance that DREAM will be in good hands before additional checks get written.

I was in the facility the other day before the passing scrimmage and it is quite a site!!! Very bright inside as it is all white, with about a 6-7' hight orange stripe that goes from the floor up, as stated 6-7' high. I know it looks big from the outside, but inside is HUGE. Plenty of room around the field and I see today they are putting up the sign on the front. WOW is all I can say, what a gem we have been given!!!!

Honestly, the images from the cam does not do it justice. Even though I prefer Obie to any other Tiger or symbol, I have to admit that everything from the architecture to the lettering on the building looks absolutely stunning!

The overall view of the entire campus is nothing short of spectacular! Especially as the sun is coming up in the morning:sunny:
Starting at the top of Paul Brown Drive, with the first glimpse of the flag waving in front of the school , your eye is quickly drawn to the grand presence of the massive new facility, completed by the awe-inspiring vision of our fabled Paul Brown Tiger Stadium and the lovely grounds.

It is a very impressive site to take in that we can all be truely proud of and thankful for:tig:

P.S. You can see the orange endzones inside of the building. And I believe that there is a large Obie logo in the middle of the field, unless I was given incorrect information.

Was in the Indoor Practice Facility the other day doing a tour with the FD to see where all of the sprinkler systems and the alarm panel etc. were and believe me, that video does not do the place justice. It is amazing how nice and how big it is inside.

As you can see from the video, it is 120 yards long, with last years leaping Tiger logo at the 50 yard line. The End Zones are orange. There are track lane stripes at least on one side of the field. (Didn't notice if they were on the other side). There is a white net that can come down and completely surround the field to protect the windows etc. and also another one that comes down at the 50 yard line to divide the field in half. Then at about the 10 yard line or so, on both ends of the field stretching from one sideline to the other, there are black nets that come down to form batting cages for the Baseball and Softball teams, as well as a place for the Golf team to hit golf balls. About 2 stories up the walls, one on the North End Zone side and one on the West Side Line side are what appear to be small balconies...I would assume for the coaches (band directors?) to be able to see formations from above.

I'm sure I missed a few other things inside, but just what I did notice in the short time I was there was amazing.
