Illinois really seems to be building a good program.

Illinois really seems to be building a good program.

Give them a year or two and they will be in the hunt for the Big Ten Title.

The team definitely has Stark County connections. It will be interesting to see how they do over the next few years.

that`s kinda like saying: "lake will be in the hunt to win the fed" illinois could make it to the middle of the pack from being bottom feeders but so long as penn st , ohio st and michigan are in the big 10, they won`t sniff a title run even with all the stark connections.

Illinois MIGHT be able to make a run at the MAC title in a few years, but not the Big Ten.

While Zook is a fantastic recruiter, it will take years for him to make inroads into the traditional recruiting territories of the Big Four in the Midwest AND to take Illini recruiting national.

While Zook has done well acquiring talent in Stark County that the Big Four have passed on, OSU-UM-ND-PSU have been skimming the cream of the crop in their respective recruiting areas.

As an example, OSU has recieved commits from ten players so far. Eight of those ten are listed among the top 100 nationally. And one of the other two, the kicker, is ranked top five among specialists.

Illinois almost be Ohio State last year. I'm not saying that they are going to win the Big Ten, but they will be competative and will surprise many good teams.

I dont care it Illinois wins a big ten title or not!!! All I care about is my boy BG getting his college education and having a chance to experience the ups and downs of major college football. If he can handle the academics BG will be a hellava saftey in the big ten!

BTW---- Illinois had the #8 best recruiting class in the nation last year a few spots ahead of OSU and UM!!
