Kenny Lofton is back with the Indians after a deal was made today for a minor-league player. Lofton could join the team as early as tonight.

I think this is just the beginning of some trades for the tribe. They still need a reliever and quite possibly need a starting pitcher cuz Lee sucks and they sent him done to Buffalo today. So they will bring up Aaron Laffey from buffalo.also i have heard tht the indians might trade jeremy sowers to get Jermaine dye. I hope tht will happen, cuz then the indians will be considered the favor for the world series

Oh my gosh! I am soooooooo excited to hear this news! Kenny Lofton was second only to Omar as my favorite all time Indian. We used to share season box seats for quite a while and were lucky to make it to a lot of games. We usually would walk over to the player's parking lot and wait for them to come out afterwards cause my kids were little then and in love with the Tribe.

A lot of the players would just wave and nod to the scads of fans that would be lined up along the wrought iron fence. Some, would occasionally come over to sign autographs. A select few greeted their fans faithfully after almost every game. Kenny and Sandy Alomar were so gracious to their fans that they would come over and even walk up and down the fence, which I personally never saw the other ones do, and sign dozens of hats, balls, shirts, etc. while the other guys were pulling out of the gate and heading home. That is something you don't see many players do after they hit marquee status. Those guys made a lasting impression on all of us and exemplified the notion of "anyone player not being bigger than the game".

Now, if they would only give Omar a call..............:scratchchin: Well, I can dream, can't I?

Great trade! This will allow Wedge a great amount of versitility in his batting order. All the talk about Grady being a better number 3 bat could be seen. Also this improves the speed of the team as they were terribly slow. It could be 1: Loften 2: Blake 3: Siezmore 4: Martinez 5: Hafner 6: Garko 7: Peralta 8: Guiterrez (sp?) 9: Barfield. That is an imposing line up. If a trade for Dye from Whitesox comes into play, wow!

he's actually batting .303, not .330, with 21 SB's. still very productive. tons of post-season experience. should be a good move.

It's a good trade because it's low risk with a good potential reward. They only lose a single-A catcher (who they obtained in the Wickman deal). They get a player who's still producing and a guy who is a popular marketing product.
