The hand of God. How did the ref miss that one. I guess his second goal made up for it.

The US losing to the Soviets was crazy as well.

You forgot the '85 NBA draft !!! It was fixed so that the Knicks got Ewing.
Check at the 5:30 mark where he goes to the bent envelope. Then watch what he does with envelope number four. He tosses it away like it has the plague. Then avoids it two more times.

I think there was something fishy that the hard luck CAVS , just happen to get the #1 pick when LaBron comes out ????

Really? I was always worried that there would be a fix for Lebron and the NBA would put him in a larger market.

The "larger" markets don't need any help !!

Wether it is true or not, I don't really know. But it seems like the NBA feels like having big stars in New York, Chicago, LA, Boston, etc. will increase revenue. New York could really use some help at this point.
I had never seen that clip you posted, but always heard rumors about the fix for Ewing. I was scared the same thing would happen and Lebron ends up in New York.

The fix was in for both players! Ewing to New York was set up because in 80's NY was horrible and it is a huge revenue market for the NBA! LBJ was also fixed but it allowed for the NBA to make more money on the "hometown theme" and sell out the Quiken every night and fans come out when he is on the road as well.

I dunno. It is harder to say the 2003 draft was fixed, imo. Cleveland was tied for the worst record, where the Knicks had the 3rd worst record. I will say that I can't see LBJ playing for Denver or Detroit had they got the top pick. I can see where the league would feel Cleveland is a better fit, but who knows.

As long as pro sports are considered "entertainment" the owners and the leagues will do whatever is necessary to make the most money and to "entertain" the most people. There's no doubt in my mind that certain things are rigged. Pittsburgh over Seattle in the Super Bowl, is one example.
