KW2 and the PUP list

I've heard that Chuck Giletti (sp?) reported that Kellen Winslow was going to start the season on the active Physically Unable to Perform list meaning he will not be available to play until after week 6. But, I am trying and trying to find this anywhere in a newspaper or on the radio and am not getting anything.

Has anyone heard this or is it total BS?

Hopefully they are just opening up another roster spot for the summer to evaulate more players and KW will be on the final roster as the article mentions.

Ok....well that makes sense. It was explained to me that he wasn't going to be on the field for the first 6 games. That's a big difference from opening a roster spot because he's not going to be participating in the early stages of training camp.

The source of the information (CHUCK GALETI) is part of the reason why this may appear to be more dramatic and serious then it really is. Remember he and Winslow family don't get along too well. Remember the incident with Kellen Winslow Sr. and Galeti? After reading the article it all makes sense.

To be fair to him in this case, I heard him say that Winslow was on the PUP list. I don't know if he said he would miss the six games.

However the points about Channel (tabloid) 19 news are valid.

I heard from Phil Savage that Kellen Winslow is only on the PUP list for precautionary reasons. They don't want to burn him out early in camp and save his legs for the season. He will be practicing by the end of next week.
