I just got back from Bolivar Dam Spillway. Had fun cat fishing!
Caught 7 bull cats and one BIG 8 pound channel cat.
See the pics.
Of course, with cats, it's catch and release!

Caught 3 mahi mahi's and a tuna last weekend. Almost didn't make it back to shore due to a huge storm, but it was worth it!

The snook are running out at Shell Island. I think I'm heading out there early evening to nail a couple. The only thing I've seen was a mama and baby manatee out from our dock Tuesday night.

This may be photoshopped but this publication claims someone caught a 260 pound carp.

That carp does look "shopped"
Just gor back from Bolivar dam again. I was the ONLY person there from 8:00 until I left at about 11:30
Here's a few pics of the same fish. I took so many because it was "huge" to me. What a fighter!

bass fisherman here. i fish all over from public lakes to private ponds even some tournys. i`m mostly just into bass although i have fished crappies and walleyes on lake erie. i have to admit i did go catfishing a few times, it was ok but not my style. "ALL MY WORMS I USE ARE PLASTIC". funny thing though: generally most uninformed people think catfish are bottom feeders and trash fish such as a carp. not the case by far, catfish are "PREDATORS" just like a bass. in fact i`ve caught big channels on a spinnerbait, rooster tail, plastic worm and even on a tube jig fishing grassbeds for bass.
ps: drop me a line, maybe we can exchange fishin holes.

Xtiger- I was the only one there, so to take my pic, I had to hold the fishy in one hand and the ca\mera in the other.
After looking at it again, it did look "funny"

I wish I could have the patience to fish but I do not, so I took up golf years ago instead. Slob is an awful fisherman by the way...but he loves to fish.

CarlE,
Those two pics of yours are on FIRE! That's the third picture I have seen you in since 2005 (I have the Dover tailgate pic saved because of all the memories you all have given me to cherish).
Nothing would please me more than to have your autograph :no1: !

Fishing season is comming soon to the Snake & Clearwater Rivers.
If anyone is interested in trout fishing in Idaho, get in touch with me. I'll be glad to forward information.
Be aware: "visitor" fishing licenses for non-Idaho residents are a bit pricy. The experience could very well be worth the price.

Carle,
Are you sure those photos aren't "photo-shopped"?

Jimbo, What are you using for bait? My brother and I go Cat fishing 4 or 5 times a year and will at least in one of those trips cathc 2 or 3 10 -15lb Channel Cats. Went last weekend up a Milton but didn't catch anything larger than 5 lbs. Caught at least 40 fish but nothing requiring 2 hands to control once in the boat!!!!!!

Jeroe- I use frozen (but thawing) chicken liver, on #5 circle hooks. With circle hooks, you dont try to set the hook when you see it bite, you wait till he "walks with it". The way a circle hook is designed, if you yank when it bites, you lose the fish. But if you do it right, you're bound to catch some biggies.
Where do you go?

A buddy and I do quite a bit of bass fishing at a private lake in Marshallville. We usually catch between 5 and 15 apiece, averaging around 1-2 pounds. Both of us have caught a couple in excess of 5 pounds. I'll see if I can find the pics.

I fish Lake Milton, Berlin Lake, Ohio River, and Lake Erie. We usually fish Lake Erie for Small Mouth but I sold my boat over the winter. Haven't been out on Erie this year and sure Miss the Small Mouth fishing. Try Shrimp its more expenive, but is a real good bait for larger Cat fish. Cat fishing is a good time, and during full moon late summer you will catch a ton of fish!!!!!!!
