I found a clip of the greatest high school football game I've ever personally witnessed.

The 1996 D-6 State Title Game-
Defending three time state champ St. Henry leads Mogadore 35-3 in the 2nd quarter. They still lead 35-9 at the half. Just about everyone thinks it's over. Not so fast.

Mogadore ties it at 44 with six seconds left in regulation. They win with a field goal in the 3rd OT 61-58. It had nearly 1-thousand yards of total offense. And according to an article in SI, it was named the top Ohio playoff ever by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. People who had arrived at PBTS for the next game, stood along the fence and cheered. I was in awe.

Massillon's OT win over McKinley in the 100th matchup takes a very, very, very close second.

I remember that game I had my son who was 8yrs old at the time and we left in the 3rd quarter. I go home and turn on the radio to listen to the next playoff game and find out the mogadore game was still going on. It taught me that it isn't over till the fat lady sings.

I was at that game too. Simply one of the best and most memorable football games that I ever witnessed (outside of the Tigers). And, since it wasn’t the Tigers, I wasn’t all nervous and could just sit back and enjoy the ride.http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Respect/respect-040.GIF

Playing at PBTS must have inspired them!!

Chuck Moore was an absolute animal that game. Add that to the fact that he had 2 injured knees (ACL's I believe) and it is amazing. I played with him at Mount Union and he was both a class act and an amazing player. Great game that highlighted a great player.

I agree with this being the #1 Championship game, but I take the Iggy win as my very very very close second.

I chose it as the best I've witnessed just because it was such a monumental comeback and it was for the championship. You could see Mogadore's confidence build throughout the second half. If you sneeze, you miss driving through that town but they have a great passion for football.

The 100th game against McKinley is something I'll remember forever. With all of the hype and national attention coming in, to have the Tigers beat their rival in such a dramatic fashion, it will be hard to beat. Perhaps only touching the next championship trophy will do it.

It was the following year (1997) when Germantown Valley View beat Akron Manchester in 5 OT's in the D-4 final.

Didn't Bellaire have a multiple overtime game at Massillon, also?

Hats off to Mogadore for wining the game noone thought they could win. This is proof that those who never give up, who never quit will be champions.
Our day is comming Tiger Fans. Stay strong. I can not wait for that day. You think the celebrations of 2005 were something. You havent seen nothing yet. After 36 years of waiting there would be one heck of a party and celebration.
