I'm going to guess that those are some huge tonsils.

Out that long? I know as a kid they usually give you something cold and you're good by the end of the week. It must take longer to recover for adults.

..yea they usually say it is more difficult the older you are... and the healing process usually takes a lot longer.. which is why most people have their tonsils out at such a young age..or some people get lucky and don't have to go through it at all.. i personally didnt mind getting mine out when i was younger.. all you get to do is lay around and watch cartoons and eat popsicles.. what kind of kid wouldn't like that?!?!

So I guess it might take a 45 year old a whole summer to recover.

Adults do take longer to heal, but another concern here is bleeding. Activity that causes a rise in blood pressure (like playing basketball) can interfere with the clot and cause the site to re-bleed, even several weeks after the surgery.

Maybe that's what caused him to commit 19 fouls in his first 2 summer league games? Yes, 19 freakin' fouls!

Thanks for the explanation. I knew there had to be a reason.
