There have been some recent (alleged, reported) problems at the 911 center and the EMA. I'm sure the County Commissioners are following them closely.

It says the guy abruptly retired. How long had Emergency Management Director Timothy Warstler held that position ??
Seems as if the whole system is very antiquated , if they still are penciling a time sheet. Heck , many companies have had computerized badges for many years.

Warstler was hired in April of 2005. Prior to that, he twice served as interim director. Rick Alatore held the position for a few months in 2004. Prior to that, Ed Cox served as director for 18 years.
I have taken a tour of the "underground bunker." While I think they do a suitable job with the resources they have, obviously there are many more modern facilities througout the country. I remember reading an article that they still had candy and other things down there from the 1960's, from when it served as a potential fallout shelter.
