I've been in contact with Tiger Carl in Florida. He's the creator of the Massillon Tigers Florida Boosters site called "Tiger Mania".

Over the years, he's wowwed us with his superb knowledge, kind heart, and extreme wit.

He had, however, decided to discontinue updates to his site, at the end of 2005. I have spoken with him and he has graciously allowed me to move his version of the Massillon Tigers Football History over to Massillon Proud. His only thing that he wanted was that I continued to update the history as it unfolds.

So, on any MP page with the left and right column (IE: the new format of the front page), you'll find the link to the history.

I have preserved the same aesthetic look and feel of his page.

Here it is: http://www.massillonproud.com/football/carl/tigpage2.htm

Thank YOU Tiger Carl for all you have done!

Nice job Jim. The only problem I seen was that Warren Harding isn't the Panthers anymore.

ie..

2005 34 0 Dover
35 31 Cincinnati Elder
55 0 Mansfield Sr. Tygers
49 0 Chardon
31 10 Mentor
29 26 Cleveland St. Ignatius
54 0 Youngstown W. Wilson
13 0 Warren Harding Panthers
49 14 Eastlake North Willoughby
8 38 Canton McKinley Bulldogs
337 126

I know, but that's what Tiger Carl calls them. Call it old school, or whatever. I figured i'd leave it that way since that's how he put it!

He would come up here and skin your hides if you changed the name. They are, always have been, and always WILL be the Panthers to the GREAT TigerCarl. The greatest poster of all time!!

I'm glad to see the history page will be continued.

Very nice, Jim. I like that Obie's presence remains on the pages.
I also would like to echo a big thank you to TigerCarl. His webpages are unique (just like Massillon) and always brought a smile to my and the kid's faces right before we would head off to the games. My sons especially got a kick out of the bulldogs in their pink attire:rockin:

Eventually, I'd like to port the rest of that over here. And I'm sure he won't mind, but I'd like to ask first, like the history pages.

THANKS for your insight!

I bet he wouldn't mind either, and it would most likely be viewed and enjoyed by a larger number of Massillon fans. Good idea:iagree:
