View Full Version : Simple question on the staff?

What does this year's staff look like? There has been alot of talk on the defensive side of the ball with the additions of some former Head Coaches and other key guys, but what does the entire staff look like?
Can someone list the offense and defense by positions? My nephew said that someone has been in the weight room that was a head coach somewhere last year and he will be coaching on the offensive side. That was a big surprise. Is that our new O-Line Coach?
It looks like we will have the most experienced staff around!

That should help narrow it down. Massillon Catholic loves this guy..lol...jokin. This guy is BAD. Ask any former Tigers that you know who played or coached with him. You can figure out who they are on your own. Just ask around. For some reason him and Jack are real tight. We must be getting to the desperate stages if we are bringing in this guy. I'd rather have claude brown.

I didn't say anything about a "bad experience" I said he can't coach, and he can't. Why do you think he is gone at Glen Oak and was the first to get his walking papers? To his credit, maybe he can work with the O-Line, but he is NO Offensive Coord, PERIOD! Which is what he was here at Massillon and Glen Oak and what I base my opinion.
TigerswillbeTigers
06-12-2007, 06:38 PM
Then I guess in your opinion, he's similar to Rose in that Rose may be a good LB coach or even D coordinator, but not a good head coach, and in the case of Battershell you think he may be a good OL coach, but not an O coordinator? Is that where you stand on these two coaches?
massillon catholic

That would be a partially fair statement. With the exception being, Jack has shown an ability to coach a defense. I haven't seen Battershell show the ability to coach an O-Line. I don't want to say he can't coach the O-Line since I haven't seen him do it. However, from what I have seen, he certainly isn't OC capable at all, especially at this level.
What I'm saying is I dont think Battershell will be a good O-Line coach based on his other performances, but I cant say he is a bad one until I see him do it and fail. I just hate to see him get the chance and fail at Massillon.

From what I heard, GlenOak fans rolled out the red carpet for him to leave. They blamed him for ruining the program for the last 6-7 years. He tried to run the spread offense every year and failed. You're talking about a coach who had NO goal-line package for the last 3 years, his goal-line package was the qb sneak. For the sake of Tiger fans, I hope he isn't your coach. Stacy must really be getting desperate.

It sure would be nice to get a good offensive line coach before the summer is over. It is time to get this problem solved as the offensive line was disappointing last year and if we are going to be a good team,we need a great coach. A lot of other teams in the county seem to have no problem in this area. GO TIGERS

Based on the strength of our coaching staff, which is clearly on defense. It seems to me that Stacy is keeping the same mindset that he used in the Whitmer game. That 10 points will win the game. Our O-Line was the worst I had seen in many, many years and it needs to be completely over-hauled. I hope that he isnt waiting too late to get this done.

Both Joe Studer and Dave Weber played and coached here in the past. They were Head Coaches at Norton and did a very good job with what they had. They had to deal with pay to play and a horrible administration, not to mention brutal facilities. If you want to know more about his credentials, ask Coach Stacy, Coach Mauro and Coach Studer. I wouldn't judge him on his record at a poor athletic school with no pride. They both come from great families that bleed orange and black! I don't need to say anything about the Studer name! If indeed Dave Weber is coaching at ANY level with the Tigers this is a great move! I wish both of them were back here.
I also heard that little Ryan Shanor was up in Norton with those guys. I wish he was coaching on our staff somewhere as well. We should bring him back to Tigertown.

I can't stand the man personally, but would take him as an O-Line coach. Perry always had good, quick O-Lineman. Kind of opposite of Rose. I like the guy but dont think he's a good head coach. That is true Butler. But that is the nature of the wing-t. It is more about deception and execution. You dont need big guys. We ran it a few years ourselves...w/ 170# guards etc.

After speaking to my fellow Hoover people, Faulkner is helping out at Glenoak with the DB's but I do believe he did take a job b/c he coudn't live on what he was getting the past couple of years. I have been a Hoover booster for the last 15 years and for some reason I hope that GlenOak will become a decent team b/c as close as the two schools are, it is a great neighborhood rivalry, except for the previous GlenOak coach who was 0-9 vs Hoover, there hasn't been a rivalry. From what I was told he is helping Massillon's former baseball coach, coach dobran, who is the full-time DB coach on Garcia's staff at GlenOak.
