It is a great place to go before the big game. Will it stay open?

That's sad news W1st! I prefered his chicken to any I ate in Barberton, and usually I left Barberton much happier! Lol

Uncle Nick was an "Uncle to anyone and everyone everywhere". A huge hole exists in Warren as he served on so many organizations. He was a pillar in the Warren City community supporting sports especially football. I hope this up-coming season is dedicated to him for all that he has done. I met Nick when I joined the Gridiron Club, and recently joined the WFA. We talked and laughed, and Nick could point out the kids who were gonna succeed in football, and make some future big plays. I remember him smoking that big stogey, those glasses and a gleam in his eyes as he made his points in discussing football. Nick is from that era when football players are thought of as very brutal, tough, and demanding to play every down. Nick to me was fun, as he met my wife (who is from England), loved her accent sat in the booth with us at times, and talked about football, WWII, Harding High School, and Warren City as a whole.
Buena Vista is not just a restaurant to gather around come football season, but is a land mark equal to or better than our other famous land mark The Hot Dog Shoppe. BV is a place where you are welcome no matter what, look up on the walls and you see jerseys, helmets, autographed photos of famous players. Nick touched all those people's lives in positive ways. It is nice when our Massillon friends come in early to eat, get ready for the game, and have some fun before kick off. This is what it is really about. Yes we want to beat each other to a pulp on the field, and score that winning touch down, or field goal. But through all the tactics on field to win the game or lose the game, both Massilonians and Warrenites know the truth behind it all, we play each other because we both produce quality teams, but more importantly, we use football to come together as communities, fans of football-good football, and friendship.
Warren Harding plays Massillon this year at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, later in the regular season. To draw the football communities closer, could there be a moment of silence and a quick announcement when we play together for Uncle Nick? Sometimes people forget. I figure, through it all, Massillon and Warren have the second-hottest rivalry after Massillon-McKinley. I know I hated to see Warren and Massillon not play for all those years. I was never happier to see the two get back together.

Sad news indeed. I don't know any Massillon fan from our era that doesn't know about the Buena Vista, or has spent many a night before the game there. And TwbT is right, Nick's chicken was better than anything you got in Barberton. A sad day, and condolences to the entire Warren community.
P.S. I like this submariner guy more every time he posts on here.

CarlE and Warren1st, since we play in Massillon this year, why don't we get some "Greek Fried Chicken" from the BV (keep it hot), travel down and meet in the parking lot to tailgate @ PBTS? CarlE, you bring the pop! I do not think they will let us have beer anywhere near PBTS! I hope I am wrong, but that is my guess......... Yes, I heard about Barberton's famous chicken. CarlE, Uncle Nick would definitely appreciate the kind words!!!!!

Gooooooooood!!! VERY GOOD!!! Trying to be up to date with all these political correctness new rules everywhere is killing me. I could use a nice cooooooooold tall (very tall) beer!!!! We used to put some in torpedo tube #4!!!! Unless the Russians were acting up, then we'd get mad, put in a Tomahawk or AD Cap, shoot, then drink. Cheers to Uncle Nick!!!
