Let me get this straight! The opponents nic name is "Trojans", and you have a problem with a sign that reads "trounce the trojans"?
Please explain your point before I go into my tirade about this "politically correct" world we're supposed to live in where celebrating Christmas is a bad thing, the pledge of aliegance is unacceptable, and the 10 commandments have been removed from the halls of our courthouses!

Say what you want, but a sign made by HS kids at a HS football game can be viewed as a reflection of the school and therefore should be checked for spelling. I think Chronic was just "ribbing" them about the spelling.

Are you supporting a sign put up in our stadium with a word spelled wrong on it? That is a direct reflection on the school.....

Anyway I think in French the word trojan is spelled trogan, so maybe the maker of the sign did know what they were doing.......

Oh for God's sake! Obviously an innocent mistake made by one of the younger girls probably:laugh: I am sure now that everyone in Massillon and Canada is talking about how the kids at WHS can't spell LOL!

Come on! It is much more worrisome to me to see all of the incorrect spelling blunders made here on M.P. by a multitude of adults who have already graduated highschool and college:tounge: :jestera: Must we find something to complain about since we can't complain about the game?!

I have to agree with the posters that are saying it's a direct reflection on the education system. This is high school not elementary. That's pretty embarassing!

I think that anyone who misspells words when It's in a setting other than chat rooms, text messages, shows a lack of education.

Those signs our supposed to represent our confidence, superiority, strengths....

I doubt Misspellings display any of that.

I'm sure there were a lot of people laughing, and that is so sad, that someone didn't correct this before anyone else saw it. How did the cheerleading instructor let this slip by?


I think we are moving into a situation where we just allow these things to continue, instead of correcting them. And don't tell me they are just kids. These are HS kids who are about to write admission letters to colleges, papers, and then resumes. If we are lax about their educational requirements now then they will continue to not see the importance, and really screw up when it is very important.

Let's hope so bigtime- because Massillon has so much to be proud of, and I hope that an amazing team, talented cheerleaders, awesome stadium, fireworks, fans.....all took away from the that one little sign.
