Only in America can someone file suit against a restaurant for serving too much alcohol to a person that's high on weed and drunk out of his mind when he slams his vehicle into the back of a wrecker killing himself.
I suppose he's going to go after the drug dealer that sold his son the weed next!
Whatever happened to personal accountability?

They should put pressure on the low-life attorney who takes this case.

Once again these attorney's exploit every avenue to make a quick buck. This is absurd. I bet that if the place quit serving the booze, Hancock and his buddies would never go there again. The owners can't win! Maybe somebody ought to sue his dad for not teaching his son not to drink and drive!

totally ridiculous comment. it's not the attorneys who are exploiting these "avenues".....it's the clients. we always blame the attorneys, but should be blaming the people who decide to sue.
should we blame the doctors for giving women plastic surgery and causing young women to feel bad about themselves, or the people who have the surgery performed?

Where do you think the clients get the idea to sue? Its from the lawyers who promise them the world in their advertisments. The clients wouldn't sue if there wasn't an ambulance-chasing attorney to do their work!

wow, even more ridiculous statements.
uh, the clients wouldn't go to an attorney if they didn't have the thought of bringing suit. it's the CLIENT'S decision and most of the time they come into an attorney's office knowing what they want.
promise the world in their advertisements? LOL. i guess you don't know much about the job, but it's against the ohio code of professional responsibility to make any promises in ads. nice try, though.
your words betray your ignorance. something tells me there's a reason you dislike attorneys/courts.

Attorneys get accident reports everyday and mail solicitations to people involved in accidents. What do you think the recipient of the solicitation thinks? BTW, the suit in this case is in Mo, where the Ohio Code of Professional Responsibilty doesn't apply.

It kinda sounds like Superbran might be an Attorney!
BTW! Down here the Ambulance chasers have their mugs and phone numbers on most taxi's and busses, but the top dog is 1-800-askgary! That dude has billboards, buses, trucks and TV commercials promoting his "instant response services". Kinda like Progressive auto insurance!
The best is when some of his clients offer their testimonials on TV and say, "just call 1-800-AXEgary, I did!

AXEgary, I did. Bro that is the FUNNIEST post I've read on here in months. I swear, I just start laughing my ass off every time one of those commercials come on. Here's the one I like: "I be going down the street.....". Unbelievable. AXEgary!! Too funny.
Or how about this one. A couple of years ago a very hot blonde attorney paid to have her picture somewhere on the yellow pages. Something happened while they were processing the request, and the bottom line was that her picture was at the top of EVERY PAGE in the yellow pages. Thank GAWD it was this blonde hottie and not AXEgary. At least she was something to look at. Bro, you made my week.

check out that state's rules on PR and i'm sure you'll find the same strict regulations regarding solicitation and advertisements.
of course there are "ambulance chasers" out there, and of course they are not look upon highly by others in the profession. however, every profession has their bad apples. people shouldn't judge all salesmen in a negative way just b/c there are "used car" salesmen out there.

Post of the week. The problem here, Jay is that this law-suit has been going on since 1983. Hef just won't budge and TC just won't quit, well you know.

Right... shouldn't just blame all lawyers. Dont' forget...
99% of lawyers make the other 1% look bad.

The whole lawsuit thing is pretty bad for everyone. The place didn't have the pot for sale and why should workers serving hundreds of customers have to babysit adults and monitor how many drinks he have before leaving. I really do not agree with this at all. I drink and I always know when I am getting tipsy--it's up to the individual to know when to say when.
It is sad Hancock had to pay with his life but we all know of the dangers when we had a few to many to drive.
