Unofficial word has Central Catholic's star player (supposedly a strong D1
prospect) moving to Mckinley.. Think his name is Taber (somthing like that)..
He plays fullback on offense and linebacker on defense.. was expected to put CCHS into the post season easily .. I hear he just up and left.. apparently he and his parents think he'll have a better chance at Ohio State from Mckinley rather than Central..

another innocent "transfer"
this keeps up and all those home grown kids that will, according to Mck fans, "keep the transfers from taking a canton kid's spot" won't even make the team.
I am sure it isn't for athletics, maybe they recruited him to improve the grad rate from 50.1% to 50.2%?
(Obiefan, how long till the right place for this is back?)
According to article he is one of the kids involve in the fight against that st. thomas kid.

McKinley now has transfers from Central,Massillon, Jackson and Akron. These players will make McKinley a better team . If Massillon had four new transfers, the county and the state would be going crazy but when other people in the county gets players than everything is just fine. Amazing isn,t it ? GO TIGERS BEAT McKINLEY

talk about double standers.:iagree: that is just:bs: . it is ok for other schools/catholics but when are tigers do it, it's look at them they can't win unless they recruit.

Boy aint that the truth.Oh well,85% of transfers are not worth it anyways. They transfer because they think there better than the school their at.that usualy means no team concept. And no cohesiveness.Lets kick butt with MASSILLON Kids!

Let's look at some of those McKinley transfers:
- The kid from Jackson is probably irrelevent (for this year, anyway) - unless you think he's going to beat out Morgan.
- Wells is a bigger boon to McKinley than a loss to Massillon. He'd be nice to have, but we've got the talent to go on without missing a beat. Put bluntly, there's no assurance that he'd even start here, because we've got better. McKinley, on the other hand, needs all the help they can get with their passing attack. Wells is good enough to be good, and that might help them out.
- Tabron's a player. However, he'll be paying tuition at McKinley - which makes you wonder why he made the move. I mean, Massillon would have been free. :) Anyway, speculation is that this move is related to college admissions and an unfortunate similarity to a box of hammers.

After Week 10, he will have wished he stayed at Central.

In my opinion, all of the transfers are irrelevant. There were some good points brought up, however. I have friends both near CCC, from CCC, and who have recently PLAYED at CCC that tell me the Tabron kid is over-rated. I assumed as much, I mean CCC is DIV and even though they play a tough schedule, I want to see the kid stay healthy up until week 10. D1 is a whole new ballgame. Also, he cannot have been THAT good - I mean - I hate to stereotype but...he's from CCC....did anybody else have those same thoughts run through their head? If not, I'll just shut up. I mean...CCC didn't win the state or get close by any means last year with him - and I've never heard of the kid personally, so I'm not worried. I heard more about Saulter (RB) and Anderson(WR) (the two who played on the West '06 team) then I did this Tabron kid. Probably a non-factor and won't have the speed to keep up.
When I first heard "Rico" Wells was transferring, I was worried. Then I saw our talent at the skill positions and we really are going to be "A-OK" without him. I heard he won't play football for McKinley anyways, just basketball. Could be wrong - but that's what I heard. If he DOES play football....LOOKOUT Rico...you know better than anybody that our secondary LOVES to hit.
Everybody thinks McKinley is going to be this great team and win the region. Their QB was BELOW AVERAGE and looked good only thanks to his amazing WRs...which are gone. I mean...anybody could throw a fade as far as they can and let those kids jump up and get it. They lost their whole offensive line - I know because they were all playing in the East vs. West game (HAHAHA...literally...I think I saw 4 of 5!). That will make things tough for Morgan to run the ball every down like last year. I'm not worried about McKinley. Our OLine is young but at least we have 2 of them back and enough skill to spread teams out. I think our passing game will open up our running game this year.
I think we have the best skill in the state - period. I think we have the best coaching staff in the state - period. I am liking those two areas right there!! We will be BACK, yet again! I just totally pumped myself up!! (is anybody else with me?)

I don't care how good McKinley is, as long as the Tigers are better!
Like it or not, they are a force to be reckoned with, and the Tigers are up to the challenge!

There are rumors out here that a Massillon football player has become a Perry football player in the last few days. Anyone know anything?
Since I knew about a basketball player that had come, I asked this person, thinking he might be mistaken, if that was who he was talking about and he said no, a player from Massillon was new to the team.
Not sure if he is a soph, jr, or sr. I figured if anyone would know, someone on this board would.

All-state line-backer George Tabron has transfered from Canton Central Catholic to Canton McKinley and was at practice yesterday.
Tabron is an all-state 6' 3" 235lbs "beast" wanted by many big Div1 college schools around the country. He is said to be able to chage the complextion of an entire football game.
Why all the transfers going to McKinley? How many players have transfered to McKinley now? Is it 4 or 5?
What is going on? :gasp:

The Canton paper lists 4 transfers this year, with 2 of those due to guardianship issues.

Transfers-- so what! we dont need noone jumping on the bandwagon now. If a transfer cant give us devon jordan numbers than stay where you are. As far as jumping off the bandwagon--Rico already knows that if he comes over the middle that his buddies #7 and #26 warned him that he will be decapitated!!!

Tabron's addition to the Canton McKinley Bulldogs will bolster a defense that allowed only 10.3 points per game last season (7.1 in Federal League play).
I have an open question on him though......having played against St. Thomas (Central's rival) for the last three years, how will he respond when he challenges the new region 2 and defending Division I state finalists (the Massillon Tigers) in the 115th meeting between the two Stark County teams?

He will crap down his nice white pants! That would make it pretty hard to chase down BG and KJ.
