Cheerleader tryouts being challenged, bus drivers being laid-off, people calling for the resignation of the Superintendent, etc.......Jackson Township is no longer the "upscale society" of Stark County like they want to think. LOL!

Just wait till Thom McDaniels starts making changes to the football program. All those rich, white moms and dads will be up in arms!

From what I see living here in Jackson, they need to lay off some bus drivers. The busses are never full and most look halfway empty even when they arrive at the school. I know nothing about the Jackson school system except the taxes are too high now, but my friends and neighbors who have kids in the schools think the superintendent should step down. Most say they will not vote for a levy until she is gone.

Your comment about the race of the "moms and dads" is ignorant.

Marie how long has this school levy been failing. I graduated in 1977 and i don't think that this was going on because we didn't have to pay playing sports.

Well, all those rich, white moms & dads succeeded in getting Larry Taylor pushed out, and Jackson has a reputation for having way too many parents putting their noses in other people's business, so how ignorant of a comment could it be? Maybe I should have left out the "white" parents and said "all those rich moms & dads"? Is that better?

I believe last November it failed, also in May. These people cannot take no for an answer. I think there should be a moritorium on building new houses in Jackson so the schools would not be so overcrowded. I live in an older Massillon Jackson area neighborhood and they are building 2 new houses in my neighborhood right now. There are houses for sale everywhere and they still build more.

LL! Who are you to question TC's words, opinions, motives? Al Sharpton, the PC police, or perhaps captain controversy?
I submit that it's you who is "ignorant" if you don't understand why TC would make such a comment. Are you that unfamiliar with where Jackson stands as a community and HS as of today?

That may very well happen gt1 but I just don't get why someone, anyone, other than a moderator would feel compelled to call out TC for such a comment. Is "rich white" racist? Is "mom's and dad's" politically incorrect? Should he have said "upper level income caucasian parents" in case there's a household with two Mommies, or two Daddies ?
Give me a break!

Given the demographics of Jackson Local's students, ignorant might not be the right word. Have you seen their "Team picture"... Thom has. lol

Mebbe, mebbe not. This would seem to be a question of fact. Since you have said that TC's comment was "ignorant", perhaps you can set us all straight: How many Jackson parents who are not rich or non-white a) have kids on the football team, and b) will object to the changes that McDaniels will make to the Jackson program?

YOU don't get much of anything, do you LL? In fact, rumor has it that you are about to be made to look pretty freaking ignorant from what I hear.

There was NOTHING wrong with what he said. Consider that the "ignorant" comment came from none other than Mr. I******* himself.

On that note, this thread has gone sour....
