City Hall is tittering with amusement and amazement at yet another gaffe by the 3rd ward councilwoman. Instead of attending the important council committee meetings next week, she scheduled a political fundraiser for herself at a local restaurant. She will blow off the committee meetings and council business to raise a few bucks.

Really? I thought he was just informing the public that this person thinks raising money is more important than doing the job she was elected to do. Sure sounds legitimate to me.

Knowing her opponent this year if I lived in Massillon I would still vote for her. My interactions with him(her oponent this fall) this year have left me with a bad taste, not to mention he values his personal thoughts over facts from what conversations I have had with him.
Fortunately for him my house isn't in Massillon... yet.

I know I was "tittering" just reading Arizona's account of what's taking place! Now that I've calmed down from all of my "tittering" I would ask Arizona to post a web-site, the name of the restaurant, or any other information about the council woman's fund raiser. I might want to make a contribution.

I was at the last council meeting, (I'm at every meeting)..(its a media thing)
from what I witnessed, The mayor set a special meeting on a seperate issue. ALL of the councilmembers had scheduling issues.. the only thing that I heard coming out of her mouth were issues related to her child, and child care coverage itself. I didn't hear anything about a fund raiser..DID YOU ARIZONA?
If you did, please let me know where I can find it in the video tape of this meeting which I shot and will air for ALL to see this Sunday evening at 6pm and mctv channel #22. :unclesam:

monday the 28th is memorial day. therefore, council committee meetings will be the 29th. i believe that is always the case when a holiday falls on a monday. not hard to schedule that.

Didn't remember hearing anything about scheduling conflicts with the Tuesday work session; again, the council wide scheduling conflicts seems to be with the special meeting called by the Mayor.

The Mayor Originaly Wanted The Special Meeting Before The Work Session On Tuesday. When This Became A Problem For Attendence, They Tried To Schedure The Special The Time For This Week Since It Needs To Be Passed Before June First.

Tuesday is the regularly scheduled committee meeting, due to the Monday holiday. She planned her fundraiser for the same night. The mayor's attempt to squeeze in a special 5 minute council meeting during the scheduled committee night for special financial legislation has nothing to do with to her prior decision to blow off council duties in favor of fundraising.

And your decision to post on this site has nothing to do with trying to cause trouble for a councilperson who doesn't always agree with the Mayor, right?

well put OW.. When it comes to the political positioning of council, I am nuetral, when it comes to political positioning of council on this thread, then I get pissed. we all have our favorites, after all of the infighting and manipulating with the mayoral thing, personally, I'm burned out on the game playing..Lets give it a rest AT LEAST until we get closer to November.
